This Tech House banger is a mashup up of Riva Starr's remix of "Dr Funk" by Carl Cox and Eli Escobar's acapella from "Chaka Khan." I rearranged the vocal a bit, added a few sweeps and FX...but the rock solid nature of the originals are still what makes this shine.

Advent Day 11 and we've got a proper party-popper on our hands with this free disco re-edit of Bohannon's 1978 classic Dance To The Beat from Andy Buchan. Not holding back, Andy goes to town on his take on the high-energy original and ensures all will arrive on the floor and hungry for it once they get wind of that thumping 4/4 beat, hard-groovin' bassline and a vocal that leaves you in no doubt as to what you should be doing.

Andy has had another highly productive year and has made sure disco DJs and fans have been well looked after throughout 2022. Lots of his music has landed on many of the top disco labels and his own label, Hot Gorilla Records, continues to go from strength to strength with highly-class music being wheeled out on the regular. Bandcamp is best for his original music, Soundcloud for Hot Gorilla music, and Edits Store is where you'll find more belters like the one featured. It comes from the BBC 6 Music host, TV legend turned funk and soul tastemaker Craig Charles who has put together a couple of sizzling edits.  On the flip (and the track we have the honour of premiering) is a more slow and seductive sound in 'Rok On' with its funky bass and sleazy vocals over low-slung and slo-mo beats. Add in the playful trumpets and muted string and you have a brilliantly curious and compelling cut.
