With just 10 days to go till the big day, we open door 15 to find a smokin' hot Disco edit from Greek producer DJ Snatch that'll have you strutting around the Christmas tree. His offering 'Wanta' is a funked-up spin on Rogel & Davis' rare groove gem 'I Wanta (Get Next To You)' and after intensifying that bass guitar hook and pumping up the beats with a fresh and snazzy 4/4 makeover, we've got yet another fine piece of music to fire up those Christmas party dancefloors! Going back a few years, Madame Electrifie first appeared in our advent chart in 2015. This time she's back with an exclusive mix on slot no.11. Advent Day 11 - Madame Electrifie: Stocking Full Of Funk Part 2

Sam Warren is someone lots of people know in the breakbeat scene and beyond. She DJs under the Dovetail name and we approached her to do something for us for the advent days of xmas and she responded by supplying a mix of her two passions. 

On the one hand a lot of the tunes she has chosen are women producers which is a project she works a lot on. The other side of the mix is her love for small independent record labels.

Advent Day 13 - Dovetail: Beats from the Roots

Ripping up the chimney as this LSM exclusive landed in our living room, Stephen Cole's remix of Meat Katie's Black Light has blown up the fire and heat in our 2019 advent countdown. A foot-stomping storm of a remix that's had us raving like Christmas arrived early.

This exclusive track will be featured on a forthcoming Lowering the Tone compilation - 12 Times Around the Sun, set to be released on 23rd December.

Stephen Cole's music production came to the surface in 2007, debuting his 'Sweet Melody' remix on A-Squared Muzik. Later that year, he joined forces with Peter Paul's budding label, N-Mity Sound Spain, and released 'Hotwired.' The release received a wide range of support, showing up in notable playlists such as Elite Force's Strongarm Sessions and Annie Nightingale's Radio 1 show. In subsequent years, he was signed to the official roster of Dead Famous Records and worked with a variety of great labels and artists including legendary tech-funk label, Lot49. He has remixed the likes of Dylan Rhymes, Access Denied, EK, Odissi, Hedflux, CircuitBreaker, Benjamin Vial and many more. Stephen’s most notable releases have been rooted in breakbeat. However, he has not limited himself to solely producing one style of music. Much like his DJ sets, his productions are an eclectic mix.

Longtime followers of LSM will know all about Wax Hands and his love for filthy Tech Funk and mind-altering Techno. His music has rocked the ward on many an occasion and subsequently sent shockwaves through many a dancefloor.

Since his last release as Wax Hands some 3-ish years ago, he has recently popped under the new guise of Probably Shouldnt. Under his new guise, he'll be sticking to a predominantly 4/4 sound that's full of groove and big Disco influences. With a handful of releases under his Probably Shouldnt name so far, where very happy to bring you his latest tune, which is a Nu-Disco edit of the 2018 hit 'Out The Window' by Australian Indie Dance outfit Confidence Man. Upping the tempo of the original, he makes sure that his feel-good offering shines a light on all who come into contact with it.

Here to enhance the party mood even further in the run-up to the big day we have 'Bring On The Brass Vol. 4' by me for day 23 of our awesome advent calendar of music. That's right folks, my annual mixtape that celebrates the spark of joy only brass brings to music is back!

Funk and Disco is once again the order of the day with my mixtape, with a selection of old and new tracks from my collection that I've hunted high and low for to make sure they fit the brass brief. As you'll hear, my hunting has brought great rewards and a fine selection of tracks can be heard from a super-talented crop of producers, many of whom have been featured on LSM several times before. A big thank you must go out to the guys and girls out there for making sure we always find our happy place when listening to their music! As for my mix, it's an upbeat and uptempo affair that's been put together in the hope that it brings a smile to your faces while you bust out some alcohol-fuelled shapes. 2019 highlights for Hong Kong Ping Pong are hosting the opening night at the Ghetto Funk Nightclub at Shindig Weekender, and hosting a stage at Leopallooza.
