Health is the first single from everybody’s new favourite band Parsnip. The track is lifted from their debut self-titled 7”, which will be out November 10th on Anti Fade, just in time for a national tour of Australia as part of Gizzfest. Parsnip are four girls from Melbourne whom have only been around for a year, but have certainly kept themselves busy during that time, playing plenty of great shows in Melbourne, as well as the rest of Australia on many stellar lineups. To commemorate Tony Allen's passing last Thursday and celebrate his infectious drums sound, we share today the official solo track of his drums take on @sebastien-tellier cult song "La Ritournelle". 

Tony Allen was a maestro. His torso wouldn’t move when he played the drums. He never hit hard, his speciality was extreme subtlety. He played the drums on "La Ritournelle" in one take, then he had to pick up his kid at school!

Sébastien Tellier - La Ritournelle (Tony Allen's Beat Solo Track) [Free DL]

Om On is an 80 minute piece written for 2 electric guitars by Italian composer Pierluigi Billone. The official release captured a studio version of the work all in one single track that was artistically just but realistically didn't allow listeners the option of revisiting the piece from a specific favourite movement (there are four)or to simply hear it in parts. This track is therefore a lovely chance to hear the last movement as I performed it together with my friend and Colleague, Tom Pauwels, 2 years ago in Paris at Studio La Muse en Circuit.
