Vlsonn - Spring Loop [RAWCUT011]

We took a little break after our last RAWCUT by @vlsonn, but this week we are back with a double Tuesday/Thursday release program. Today is a special one, because it marks the return of @kid-bassline to the RAW camp. If you didn't know, he's one of the original founding members of RAW Records, and is the man behind our name and logo. After a little hiatus spent revisiting his musical roots, he's back with his new/old signature house sound deeply influenced by UK bass music. Keep an eye on him as he's set to drop an EP for RAW, and has a remix coming up on @thekaanerbay's 'Frost' EP set to drop late June.

Principal Dean & ATELLER - Midnight Cinematics [RAWCUT025]

Introduced to RAW on "RAWAAA", french producer @malanoche666777's versatility earned him many appearances on BBC Radio 1 through the likes of Branko,TWRK, Jamz Supernova and more. After premiering his track '"Macaco" on Thump in 2013 and contributing an IDM inspired RAWCUT, which sampled from the Japanese movie "Akira", early on in the Series, he finally is back with something quite different: his own take on modern R&B, and a peek at what his upcoming EP will sound like. With a low-end that makes this song viable in any club setting with its rolling subs and heavy kicks, "Gone (for now)" was put together with beautiful minimalism, letting every single percussive element breathe through a ghostly palette of pads with a hint of vocals from one of your favorites.

The 27th RAWCUT comes from our Swiss fam SIMPIG (Shake It Maschine & Mr.Pigman), who we toured Europe with on more than one occasion. We were supposed to release this one a celebration for half of the duo (Shake It Maschine) going to RBMA Paris, but truly horrible acts of terrorism committed in the French capital on the night preceding his departures for the academy led to his adventure being postponed for a few months. Nonetheless, enjoy "Warm Cider", because we all need a little warmth when it's November.

Our second-to-last RAWCUT of 2015 (and 28th of the series!!) is a very special one. Noms has been with us since day 1, when he remixed Watapachi's "Out in The Streets" back in 2012. After dropping his debut EP on RAW in 2014, he most recently contributed to our RAWCUT series alongside Seablaze (RAWCUT022). Today he's back with fellow Boston producer Alt-Ok (ø˚) backing him on yet another very energetic cut, with a little wink at a lot of people's favorite anime. We're pleased to welcome him to the family, and promise you'll hear more from Mr. ø˚ in the near future! ≈≈
