With her music she aims to challenge the expectations within the confines of this masculine genre, often focusing on the ideas of revenge and strength through a woman’s perspective.

How has this Human Experiments story started ?

Human Experiments :
I don’t really know how and when it started to be fair, music has always been part of my life and i was introduced to electronic quite young. I guess I started taking a real interest in djing when I first went to nightclubs. Learning how to mix was quite a logical next step for me. And then naturally from a certain point, the will to express my own idea of music started to emerge and that’s why I learned to produce. Besides, playing your own material in front of an audience is always more satisfying.


Virtual Underground :
Where do you generally draw your inspiration from ?

Human Experiments :
I produce techno but my inspirations are quite eclectic : rhythmic noise, industrial, EBM, basically all of this kind of subgenres in which experimentation and the search for an extreme sound experience has a primary role. I'm also very receptive to cinematic music notably when it’s made of orchestral sonorities and aggressive rhythms, it always grabs me when it’s wisely mixed up with techno.


Virtual Underground :
Could you describe your music selection and mixing process ?

Human Experiments :
I’d say this set follows the pattern of what I usually do : Combine hard and cinematic techno materials with more accessible and danceable ones, always with a punk note. Regarding the mixing process itself I try not to just play tracks after tracks but to create synergies between them. So tracklist and running order selection is quite important.

Which software/hardware did you use for this set ?

CDJ nexus 2000 and DJM 900.

What are your next plans ?

Human Experiments :
I’m not gonna lie I don’t have much time to produce, but some tracks of mine will be released soon on various labels, maybe with a press on vinyl format. On the long run I'd love to work on a live project.

Revelation Of Sound is pleased to present Mary Yuzovskaya. By way of NYC, Berlin and before that Moscow, vinyl only techno DJ, producer and record label owner Mary Yuzovskaya has been cultivating her unique orbit in the electronic dance music firmament for over 13 years.

Having graced the decks of all Moscow’s hotspots back in the mid-2000s, Mary moved to Berlin, where she quickly became recognised for both her blisteringly-precise vinyl-only techno sets and her painstakingly professional approach to the craft of DJing. Based in New York City since 2013, Mary currently holds a residency at Public Records and solely runs her very own record label called Monday Off, launched in 2017, where she curates and presses work from artists that explore techno's trippier, more hypnotic side. After relocating to the US, Mary quickly became a key figure in its scene, performing regularly at different venues including multiple residencies at some of the city’s institutional parties like Unter, where she was a staple for three years, as well as working as a vinyl distribution manager at renowned Brooklyn-based record shop Halcyon.

Mary has been fortunate enough to share the decks with many talented and internationally recognised musicians such as Blazej Malinowski, Claudio PRC, Dino Sabatini, Edit Select, Ness, Xhin, and many others. She has been busily traveling the world and performing her unique take on techno music’s deeper vibes at many noted clubs and parties across the world, including ://about blank, Basement, Compound (LA), Distillery (Leipzig), OHM, Output (Brooklyn), Propaganda (Moscow), and Tresor, to name only a few.

Berlin Techno 001 - Ben Teufel

Born in Naples in 1989, Diego developed a strong passion for electronic music as he was growing up around Neapolitan club culture as a teenager. 
He started mixing at the age of 16 locally, catching the eye of numerous promoters as he showed talented skills behind the decks. 
In 2011, he was chosen to be part of the infamous Nice To Be project where his collaboration granted him the possibility to grow and push the limits as an artist. It’s when his own style began to shape towards Techno that Diego was inspired to make his own music, and when his unique personality grew as an artist. 
His various releases are among respected labels such as MindTrip Records, Konsequent Records, Nowhere, Etruria Beat, KSR, Nice To Be Rec, Planet Rhythm, Arts e Circular Limited. 
Diego’s career is developing fast with his prominent releases and his experience behind his music knowledge.
