Jerome Griffin II, professionally known as Harlem Rose is a hip hop and reggae producer from Stone Mountain, GA currently living in Ewing, NJ.

He was influenced by music at a young age as his father and uncle created the legendary group Come Alive 5. His father was a DJ and dancer while his uncle was an emcee. The duo worked with many top New Jersey artists such as Naughty By Nature, and Queen Latifah and was associated with many hip hop films in the 80s and the 90s such as Kush Groove, and Breakin 1 & 2.

Although music was very prominent in Rose's life, it wasn't his first passion. Rose was a top-recruited basketball player in Georgia until ultimately tearing his ACL, which ended his basketball career.

He then moved back to New Jersey and met DJ, rapper, and artist Raw Webb in 2013 thru his mentor Rastaman Ujimma Parris. Raw Webb had just come back from a tour with Master P and No Limit when Rose met him and played some of his own beats at the studio. This was the beginning of Raw Roses. The duo have an EP coming out summer 2018 called Balboa. Rose has also worked with Alex Marley, Heartafiya, SieleSoTrue, and Krazy of the 504Boyz.

During the end of 2018, Harlem decided he wanted to extend his industry pallet and take on bigger roles. He signed on to be a staff writer and radio host for Industrycertified. Writing over 30 published articles and over 100 interviews for the show. Have no writing experience or schooling, just a love for poetry Harlem’s column “Mo Better Music” became a fan favorite.

2019 Harlem and Music Partner Raw Webb decided they wanted to take on their life dream and become studio owners. Raw Roses Studio was born, a recording studio in New Brunswick, NJ where all forms of acts are welcomed to record their music. Harlem would go on running the studio for 3 years. 

In 2022 Harlem pivoted from his recording studio to focus more on mental health awareness. Using his industry platform to reach the masses. His goal is create a safe space for artist and entertainers across the world. Giving them a place to release thoughts and experiences they may have experienced in the music business rather than being silent and holding those feelings in. Harlem has seen many of talented musicians take their lives for not having such a platform to express their feelings. With a platform for an artist, created by an artist, we have the potential to save lives, and fix generational curses.
