I'm just another fretless bass player, but shorter.

The rough mix and demo tracks here are to appear on my forthcoming solo album, "Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair..." which I hope to release soon. I've written the music and played the instruments.  I have used and occasionally adapted the poetry of my life partner Vienna Forrester. She has a knack of creating strong visuals in her poems and I wanted to showcase her talents and fulfil my need to release my musical work to the general public, hence the reason for this album. I am deliberately trying to stay away from the notion that songs must follow a rhyming verse chorus pattern so think of these lyrics as poetry (which is what they are) and you'll get the idea. Of course, this also means that commercialism is out the window but all I ask is that you listen and if you like what you hear, that's fine by me... if you don't, that's also fine. I just want to be happy with what I create but if it makes you happy too, then that's a bonus.

I am the guitarist and founder member of the band ‘Secrets for September’ as well as being a solo musician and composer. 

Most of the material on this page is a scrapbook of things that I have been doing working on or odd things from the past that are sometimes connected to my blog. 


Dan Ashley has been a solo artist on the circuit for over 15 years, breathing his own sound and style of entertainment into the songs he covers. He has a knack of refreshing good old Rock songs originally performed by the likes of Gary Moore or Pink Floyd, to the more mellow sounding songs Including Baker Street & It must Be Love. Plus a handful of Instrumentals, Including The Shadows & Fleetwood Mac.  He also covers good vibes to get you singing & dancing. Dan is not just a good vocalist, he plays guitar and alto sax and will promise you a good night with a good mixture of music. 

Dan has a strong vocal range and can cover songs of all styles, all ranges, for all ages. He will cover the best songs all the way from memory lane right up to present avenue.
