Raya Max is a London based Ghanaian - British recording artist. She creates electrifying disco music with catchy soulful melodies and a powerful groove!

Raya  writes  and produces her songs to  bring together her families influences in her music. Raya’s paternal side of the family is from  Kumasi Ghana, special   occasions would be set to the explosive sounds of traditional live percussion!
Her tribe performs variations on typical West African rhythms. The polyrhythmic instrumental layers of her music draws you into her songs and you can’t help but move to the beat! 

You can hear throughout Raya’s lyrics she reveals themes of surviving abuse, that lead to homelessness and the solidarity you can find in the friendships you build for a lifetime. And how some of these friendships start on the dance floor in the enigmatic London nightlife scene. She tells these stories with vivid positivity and lightness with a sweet innocence about it. It’s quite the contrast to the full power of the impactful drum beat and makes for a fresh new voice in the UK music scene!

Before releasing her own music Raya toured extensively as a Jazz and gospel vocalist to Europe and America, performing solo to a sold out 10,000 arena audience at the Mandalay Bay arena in Las Vegas among others. 

Throughout this time she studied the vocal styling’s of Patti Labelle, James Brown and the performance style of Tina Turner, Her popularity grew and she was booked on average 5 performances a week/250 performances a year over a number of years in London, Italy, Germany and Switzerland. In later years, as lead vocalist and musical director, she was able to perfect her musicianship and delivered fantastically engaging live shows. 

Among many in her audiences, Tom Jones said she is “Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant“ and Emeli Sande said she is “Fantastic! Wonderful connection with the audience!” 
           In “Starlight” with her multi octave honey sweet vocals you 
can hear the strong influence of her experience in Jazz and gospel vocal, This immersed in an electrifying disco rhythm is music that, during these uncertain times, inspires you to bring on that dancing energy to your days activities!
