Der in Frankreich geborene und in Südzeitz aufgewachsene Gregor Jacques und der Deutsch-Marokkaner Aladin Aziz (Al Schablone) treffen sich das erste Mal bei einem Freizeitbasketballspiel auf dem Sportplatz der örtlichen Gesamtschule. Schnell entdecken sie ihr gemeinsames Interesse für Musik und Science-Fiction. Im Zeitraum von 1998 bis 2007 machen sie unter dem Pseudonym "TranceCoat" mehrere Alben ohne dabei jemals die Aufnahmetaste zu drücken. Erst als sie Ende 2012 durch einen Link auf der Internetseite "Hornoxe" auf die yllbeatz kru stoßen, wird ihr Wille zum Veröffentlichen aufwendiger Produktionen geweckt. Nach kurzen Verhandlungen nimmt sie die yllbeatz kru 2013 unter Vertrag und veröffentlicht erstes Songmaterial. Nun unter dem Namen "Gregor Schakal".
