Foreign desde Madrid es nuestro artista invitado y viene con un set de altos vuelos.

Foreign es Miguel Vázquez en su versión IDM, Avant-Techno y Electro. Estilos que combina con sutileza y destreza para crear ambientes melodiosos donde las polirritmias y la abstracción se abrazan en plenitud.

Evidentemente crear sets con esta profundidad, complejidad y coherencia no son fruto de 2 días de trabajo. Y es que Foreign es todo un veterano y al mismo tiempo un investigador continuo de la vanguardia musical.

Foreign “cursó sus estudios” trabajando en la mítica Recycled Music Center (Madrid) mientras que al mismo tiempo confundaba Silverside Collective. Así que, mientras despachaba joyitas plasticosas en Recycled, se iba empapando de todo el conocimiento que allí le rodeaba para después trasladar todo ello a los eventos Silverside, donde apostaban claramente por la música experimental. Hablamos de unos años, en torno a 2001, en los que este tipo de propuestas eran verdaderamente rompedoras.

Foreign ha paseado su arte por eventos como Hard Taste o A. I. Series, y por clubs como NAO, Dub Club, Specka, Graffiti o Shagü Club.
Actualmente Foreign forma parte de la dirección de 2 sellos muy respetados como son Artificial Intelligence y Zyrcadian Editions.

Para esta ocasión Foreign nos ha obsequiado con un set muy bien estructurado y muy bien mezclado, donde el Electro es el hilo conductor y donde se percibe su gran bagaje musical, y es que podemos encontrar desde melodías cristalinas, a tintes IDM, cortes más rítmicos con ambientes más densos y algún que otro clasicazo de los que tanto amamos.

Controlled Weirdness aka Neil Keating is a producer, DJ, record label owner and avid record collector with a lifetime of experience.
Neil has been at the front line of all aspects of club and sound system culture since the 80’s when he first began to go to nightclubs, gigs and illegal parties. Around this time, he also started to dig into his growing record collection to play an eclectic selection of tunes at some seminal early underground events.

His musical CV includes playing everywhere from plush clubs to dirty warehouses as well as mixing tunes on a variety of iconic London pirate radio stations. He has released music on numerous underground electronic labels and was responsible for promoting and playing at a series of legendary early raves in the USA at the start of the 90’s. He has played extensively throughout Europe and beyond and has an eclectic and seriously deep collection of music built up over time that reflects an appreciation off all elements of the London groove.

Neil now runs Presence Unknown, a vinyl and digital label dedicated to releasing music influenced by his love of Electro, Acid House and Rave. These tunes are crafted using a variety of analogue and digital machines in his South London studio and are designed to be played loud on the finest sound systems.
