This is a beautiful piece and a profound haiku, too.

As You Asked is not a piece about certainty, but about trust — the kind that is born when two souls meet through creation. As if the piano itself understood the question and, without hesitation, simply replied: as you asked.
It was born from an exchange between Francesco Adornetto and Jessica Brown Bains, from a simple phrase that holds an entire intention: to offer something genuine, without hesitation. Each note is a wordless reply, a musical gesture that doesn’t aim to explain, but simply to be — like lifelong friends — just as requested, just as felt.
Within the flow of the composition, there is a delicate balance between listening and revealing. The higher phrases — quick and fleeting — feel like whispered thoughts, while the deep and steady foundation tells of a profound intimacy, one that reveals itself only to those who know how to ask sincerely.

"If Ever I Would Leave You" ist a song from the musical Camelot. The  music was written by Frederick Loewe and lyrics and a book by Alan Jay Lerner. It is based on the legend of King Arthur as adapted from the 1958 novel The Once and Future King by T. H. White.

The original 1960 production, directed by Moss Hart with orchestrations by Robert Russell Bennett and Philip J. Lang, ran on Broadway for 873 performances, winning four Tony Awards. It starred Richard Burton as Arthur, Julie Andrews as Guenevere, and Robert Goulet as Lancelot.

The delicate kiss of a gentle breeze is bliss
as I've been walkin' up this hill far too long.
There's sweat dripping on my brow, and, honestly, up 'til now,
I wasn't all that sure that I could quite hold on. 

I walked down to the beach,
which, latley, has been outta reach,
to soak rays and to plant my feet in the sand.
I suppose it's not the sea,
but, still, the lake, it does for me,
what everyone else has that no-one understands. 

I'm so high, I cannot speak,
so I write these words in ink
so that I could possibly use them later.
Although my life is bleak,
I feel I offer unique 
perspectives of experiences and behaviors.

The Turning Point

I'm a composer, working from a 3' x 5' studio (some may call it a dinette) in a 5th wheel camper, while traveling the United States. I've been on the road for six years, so most of my recent work will have come from a different state (of mind and location) during my travels.

Music makes me feel better about everything. I don't know that I'm ever happier than when I am creating. I sometimes wonder if creativity isn't one of the primary keys to happiness. Do you ever feel better than when you say, "Look what I did."? This phrase magically conjures the purest sense of childlike joy.

Music works for every part of our lives. We all have music for when we are sad, happy, celebrating, meeting others, when we are alone, and even when we are lonely. Did a song come to mind as you read each of those situations? I remember the first song I ever heard on the radio, on my first bus ride to kindergarten. One of my favorite musical memories is playing in a band for steel beach on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz.

I love telling stories with music. Everybody loves John Coffey in the Green Mile, but Mr. Jingles should have a song commemorating his reaching and joining the circus at Mouseville.
