Yet another Battle of the Bits OHB entry of mine. This one was written on March 5, 2014 between 1:14 AM and 2:14 AM. This is one of the few OHB entries (and indeed one of the few originals of mine in general) with which I am fully satisfied; it seems appropriate, then, that this received a score of 35.000 on Battle of the Bits, the maximum score an entry can receive, and which is only possible if every voter gives it a 7 out of 7.

The theme/restriction for this battle was: "Make a cheesy soundtrack for a strange situation".

As usual, this was recorded on a Famicom using the TNS-HFC3 device and a Just Breed cartridge for MMC5 audio.

The theme song to the game, Thanatos, for 8-bit computers such as the ZX Spectrum and the Amstrad CPC. There's also a version for the C64 that was arranged by the one and only Rob Hubbard.
I based my cover off of the Amstrad CPC version, the deeper notes gave it a more somber and melancholic feel to it. I also wanted to give this a bit of a JRPG feel to it, something you'd expect to hear on the PC-88.
