Bringing together a diverse mix of nationalities and musical backgrounds, The Outside comprises
members from Chile, Israel and Germany. 

Offering a compelling mélange of challenging Thrash Metal, they have so far released their highly rated debut album through SAOL/H'Art in 2012 and their second record „Dawn of the Deaf“ in autumn 2014. The Outside played seven tours since fall 2011, with shows in Germany, Poland, Belgium, Austria, Ireland, Czech Republic and Chile.

Alberto Atalah, a Chilean drummer,
began playing drums when he was 14. 

After five years of private lessons on drum kit and snare drum, he began studying classical percussion at the PUC in Chile, where he learned to play xylophone, marimba, percussion sets and classical snare drum, as well as other instruments.

While studying, he stood out for his snare drum skills in particular. Alberto has also taken private lessons from a number of drum teachers over the years.

Alberto’s strengths are rock music, double bass drumming, rudiments, polyrhythms and odd meters.

From 2008 to 2016, Alberto's main musical project was The Outside, a Chilean/German metal band based in Berlin. After two albums and countless shows in Europe and South America the band decided to stop performing, giving all the band members the chance to continue with other musical paths.

	In recent years Alberto recorded and toured with a variety of rock, metal, pop, progressive and latin bands all over Europe (Germany, UK, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Czech Republic, and others), in Russia and at very well-known festivals like Summer Breeze, M'era Luna, Metalfest, Wave-Gotik-Treffen, and others, performing in front of thousands of people.

In 2014, Alberto was invited to participate as a member of the jury in the national part of the German contest "Jugend Musiziert", the most important musical contest for young musicians in Germany.

He’s been living in Berlin since 2005. At the moment he's teaching full time at thePlanetDrum Berlin, an international drum school with over 170 students in Berlin, and touring a lot with different bands as an independent drummer.

We are Maahlas, a band of four untamed and unrelenting deviants joined to create something chaotic yet meaningful. Where we come from is of no significance, only where we are headed. We love the energy of our music and the thoughts we command.

After many years playing in various bands we found and met one another in Oslo, Norway and joined to create this project.

 At the helm is Cuno, an uncomprimising musical leader, a maveric, creator, innovator. He has lead his earlier project "Ominous Grief" through an album, many concerts and festivals in Turkey and Eastern Europe before he moved and settled in Norway 5 years ago. Joining up with Levent (Neurosilence) and Lucas in the summer of 2013, they started recording the album Nightmare Years.

Levent delivers the aggressions and the passions of life brutally and sincerely, as he voices the various monstrous personas of this concept albums story. While Lucas, previously from "Gnida", a thunder storm loose upon us, shakes us with his precise and fluid style of drumming, giving new depths to these songs. Atle, former bass player from V:28 has recently joined us and with his solid bass dynamics and energy and surprising clean vocals added new dimentions to Maahlas sound.

We are ready with a complete album ready to conquer the world. The only thing missing right now is band Photograhs, dont worry we are not too pretty ;)
