„Als ich das Licht der Welt erblickte...“ Mit diesen Worten beginnt die allererste Ausgabe des "Das haett es frueher nicht gegeben"-Podcasts, welche eben genau heute vor einem Jahr das Licht der Welt erblickte.

Wir werden ganz sicher nie das Gefühl vergessen, als unser Freund Manuel Scholze aka http://soundcloud.com/radiotherapie uns sein extra für uns aufgenommenes Set übersandte und wir es mit einem eigenen Logo versehen auf Soundcloud hochluden und mit anschauen konnten, wie immer mehr den Podcast, UNSEREN Podcast, anhörten und sich begeistern ließen. Und noch immer treibt es uns ein Grinsen aufs Gesicht, wenn wir uns unsere #01 anhören, die eben treffenderweise mit den Worten von Heinz Erhardt beginnt.

Und es ist keine Floskel, dass es uns schier sprachlos macht, wenn wir auf dieses Jahr unseres Podcasts zurückschauen. 24 großartige Künstler haben unvergessliche Sets aufgenommen, eine Schnapsidee wurde zu einer unserer erfolgreichsten Ausgaben und insgesamt wurde der gesamte Podcast auf SC rund 160.000 (!!!) mal angehört. Für uns aber mindestens ebenso großartig ist die Tatsache, dass der Podcast über iTunes, andere Podcastplayer und RSS mittlerweile auch über 16.000 Plays und 3000 Downloads zu verzeichnen hat – ganz ohne SocialMedia Umfeld. 

Unser Dank geht natürlich in erster Linie an die Künstler, denen wir dieses großartige Jahr zu verdanken haben. Es ist einfach immer wieder schön zu erleben, dass besonders viel Liebe und Sorgfalt in die Sets hineingesteckt wird, um gerade für uns etwas ganz Besonders zu „liefern“ – zumindest war das eine der häufigsten Rückmeldungen von den Interpreten. Und wir dürfen auch schon verraten, dass wir uns bereits auf die kommenden Wochen und Monate freuen, denn viele weitere Künstler haben schon ihre Zusage gegeben.

Vor allem aber danken wir EUCH! Euch Lesern und Hörern und Musikbegeisterten! Jeder einzelne von euch hat den Podcast zu dem was gemacht, was er nach eigentlich so kurzer Zeit schon ist: Eine feste Größe in der Szene der elektronischen Musik. Wir freuen uns über jeden Kommentar unter den Sets, auf facebook oder auf unserer Website. Ihr seid großartig und wir sind stolz auf solch eine „Fanbase“!

Nun aber genug der Worte – es ist Zeit für Geschenke, wie es sich für einen richtigen Geburtstag eben gehört. Geschenk Nummer 1 ist unser Special, an dem drei Künstler beteiligt waren. Bei den Dreien handelt es sich um unsere lieben Team-Mitglieder. Ohne diese Drei – das steht fest – hätten wir das Projekt nicht so weit voran treiben können, wie wir es nun geschafft haben. Die eigentliche Besonderheit ist aber, dass die drei es geschafft haben, quer durch die Republik über die Entfernungen hinweg gemeinsam ein Set aufzunehmen, das einerseits wie aus einem Guss wirkt, gleichzeitig aber auch drei ganz unterschiedliche Facetten aufweist, für die jeder und jede einzelne von den dreien verantwortlich ist. Geschenk Nummer 2 wird pünktlich am 1. Oktober als die eigentliche Geburtstagsausgabe erscheinen. Aufgenommen von einer ganz großartigen Künstlerin, der wir besonders freundschaftlich verbunden sind. Ein kleiner Hinweis: In letzter Zeit ist sie häufig mit einem Künstler anzutreffen, der ebenfalls bereits vor ein paar Monaten schon einen Beitrag zum Podcast geliefert hat.

Über das einjährige Bestehen des „Das haett es frueher nicht gegeben“-Podcasts haben wir ja bereits bei unserem Geburtstags-Special (s.u..) genug Worte verloren. Trotzdem müssen wir erwähnen, dass wir unser Jubiläum durchaus zum Anlass für unsere bisher prominenteste Ausgabe genommen haben.
 
Da wir tatsächlich noch die Bar 25 live mit bekommen haben und auch gerne im KaterHolzig feiern gehen, war uns http://soundcloud.com/mira_bar25 natürlich schon länger ein Begriff. Persönlich kennengelernt haben wir sie dann vor fast einem Jahr im Hamburger Übel & Gefährlich, wo sie zusammen mit unserem Freund http://soundcloud.com/shuffle – mit dem sie sehr häufig zusammen anzutreffen ist, unter anderem auch für zahlreiche Produktionen im Studio –  und http://soundcloud.com/britta-1 eine ganze Nacht lang das Turmzimmer auf den Kopf stellte. Bei dieser Party bahnte sich auch bereits die Zusage von Chris zu unserem Podcast an, auf Mira mussten wir jedoch etwas länger warten – aus gutem Grund.
Nicht nur dass sie fast nur auf Achse ist, weil sie national wie international (New York, Zürich, Helsinki, Amsterdam zum Beispiel) ständig gebucht wird, natürlich sind auch die Anfragen nach ihren Sets für Podcasts nicht gerade selten. Und so spricht es nur für sie, dass ihr absoluter Anspruch ist, die Sets eher spärlich zu streuen um eben jedes einzelne zu etwas ganz Besonderem zu machen. Sowohl was die Phase des Entstehens als auch den Zeitraum nach der Veröffentlichung angeht.

Wer Mira kennt, der weiß, dass sie sich glücklicherweise musikalisch nicht einordnen lässt; zu facettenreich und abwechslungsreich ist einfach ihr Sound. Sehr deutlich wurde uns dieser Kontrast am letzten Wochenende. Erst erlebten wir mit, wie sie in Hamburg auf der http://soundcloud.com/vollschoen Party die MS Stubnitz samt Publikum mit ihrem deepen und clubbig-treibenden Set zum Kochen brachte. Am Morgen danach dann konnten wir uns dann zu den unglaublich entspannenden und atmosphärisch dichten Klängen ihrer Podcast-Ausgabe fallen lassen, die sie uns quasi als Podcast-Geburtstagsgeschenk auf der besagten Party persönlich überreicht hatte.

Jetzt wird es Zeit für eben dieses Set, das keine beschreibenden Worte braucht, weil es einen vom ersten Ton an in seinen Bann zieht und für die gesamte Dauer in die Ferne entführt..!

2013 … For me, a great year is nearly over.
My single "Jetlands" w/ my best buddy Ron Flatter was released on one of my favourite labels - Stil vor Talent.
My first own single "Why the caged bird sings" had it's release a couple of weeks ago, my first remixes came out and a few more are in the pipeline.
I have played great gigs, met really cool people, living & enjoying my life and produce & play the music that i truly love.
With this mixtape, which is also my last one this year, you get some kind of "best of" … not only the latest shit, but of course only tracks that i deeply love, from artists and labels which inspired me in so many different ways!

Majeste Musique#07 [Le Printemps fleurit en musique]

Smith Westerns have cleaned up nicely. Just over a year ago, the Chicago foursome were of the strictly "lo-fi" persuasion, stirring up hot, filthy garage-rock candy out of Marc Bolan and Beatles signifiers. It was youthful music in feeling and sound-- their noisy full-length debut was recorded while they were still in high school-- but the remarkable hooks buried therein were clear enough to land them on the increasingly stacked Fat Possum roster. And suddenly, they had a studio budget the likes of which they definitely hadn't enjoyed before. Though the leap is audibly huge, Dye It Blonde's many successes aren't wholly the result of its gilded production values and ambition. This band was able to furnish first-class melodies from the beginning. Now they've grown along with their resources.

You can hear the progress right away in "Imagine, Pt. 3", a song originally released as part of a split 7" in April 2010. Sped up here just a touch, it's also been re-outfitted with a far creamier set of synths and guitars. The way the latter seem to clasp hands during the coda is particularly breathtaking, frontman Cullen Omori and guitarist Max Kakacek letting their individual lines mate rather than duel. While the melodic foundation was already sturdy throughout, here, what once sounded ragged in stretches is now plush-upholstered from start to finish. Every single piece of Dye It Blonde is similarly decadent, whether it's the sweet whine of semi-titular closer "Dye the World" or the twilight jangle of "End of the Night".

In an interview not long after the album's completion, Omori noted that this otherwise new set of songs was influenced by 90s Britpop luminaries like Oasis, Teenage Fanclub, and Suede. All are present sonically and spiritually, be it in brash tones, melodic IQ or the sheer scope of these recordings. Where a Smith Westerns hook may have once sounded like another fuzzy member of the Nuggets family/genus, it now unfolds like crane-shot, mainstage festival fare. "Still New" for example floats some phasered guitar interplay before Kakacek rips a hole across the chest of the song with a woozy line so big it essentially serves as a chorus. Like "Weekend", whose central, hair-flipping lick also hugs all its parts together perfectly, the song just sounds so drunk-- drunk on love, drunk on heavy petting, drunk on drink, or maybe just drunk on a some combination of the above. In song, it all depends on the lean of Omori's voice and the whip of his chord changes, the curves of his brother Cameron's bass lines.

That moony/beery-eyed feel bleeds through every corridor of this album and in turn forms a crystalline expression of what moves this band. Their use of the studio in augmenting that never goes overboard, though: this music still retains the innately psychedelic, lamplit, tongue-kissed sense of atmosphere that set it apart. There's perhaps no better instance of all that than "All Die Young", the album's centerpiece. It's a ballad turned hymn whose grand, tumbling scale and "Oh Yoko"-indebted outro celebration are peaks on an album rich in them. In its closing moments, Omori sings what sounds like, "Love is lovely when you are young." They were convincing before, but now they seem like experts.

In fact, just a couple of months ago &ME's 'After Dark' was one of our top Burning Man tracks... incredible vibes.

The core team at Keinemusik; Rampa, &ME, Adam Port, David Mayer and Reznik have been on tour around Europe for just under a month now, playing spectacular back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back sets in cities such as Vienna, Stuttgart, Istanbul, Oslo, Rome and Moscow and their hometown Berlin of course, where they finish up the tour on November 15th.

Besides the city-hopping, non-stopping tour, the guys have also put together 'Workparty Five' a compilation of music from the team that really showcases what they are all about. Spread across two solid pieces of vinyl, it's an essential purchase which will be available on November 17th.

Σtella is already known as the most characteristic female voice in the Greek electro-pop scene. After many collaborations and guest appearances (My Wet Calvin, Sillyboy, Coti K., Expert Medicine, Nteibint, Sad Disco) and two side projects (Fever Kids, Chest) it's time for her debut self-titled album.

The world of "Σtella" unfolds in 10 tracks where love for the 80's is present, synths are bolstered by funky guitar and dynamic bass and disco beats and colorful pop textures embrace the unique vocals of Σtella. The album was recorded in 2014, Σtella has written music and lyrics and has played most of the instruments, while it was produced by Σtella and Nteibint. The tracks "Detox" and "Picking Words" are already favoured by radio producers and the album is expected to be among the best pop albums of the year.
