An 80’s boogie cover of a classic now tightened up for the dance floor. Fresh from signature releases on Masterworks and Midnight Riot, Coutel keeps things on point; pulling key elements of the original and locking down the bpm. Discotheque Credits take on dub duties;  stripping things back, adding extra percussion and dipping a toe into the disco filter pool. Not the first edit of an existing classic but a cut that’s tried and tested on the dance floor.  Club and radio support from Pablo Contraband, Earl Grey and Marcus Harris.

Mr Mendel’s disco credentials have been growing steadily in stature over the last few years. 

Here the Dutch boogieman drops two killer jams for the Disco Deviance imprint. Both demonstrate his clean and tidy approach to editing which focuses on the quality of the original source material and a delicate desire to enhance and ease only the very best out of the music he loves so much. 

As such he owes much to his Chicago mentor and good friend Rahaan whose influence and sound can be detected in these reworks. This is of course a good thing.
