Todays guestmix is from our newest housemate @aroop-roy (Yes it's his real name), who's Ep has also just dropped on House of Disco (Check it out here). Aroop's made a name for himself by deftly incorporating  diverse musical influences into his productions from afrobeat to techno. His mix for us today charts some of those influences and we certainly end up in some unexpected but welcome places. Tracklist will surface in a week or two........until then, happy guessing.

After seven years in the game and a number of various side projects, Apparel Music has recently announced another venture. Apparel Wax, the newest addition to curator Giuseppe D'Alessandro aka KiSk's lineup is one strictly for the heads with the focus being solely on the music. The artists of each release will not be revealed but will rather all be under the collective umbrella of the Apparel Wax brand. The direction of the music will be largely influenced by disco, funk and jazz. It seems that the new catalogue is already catching on as the first release is currently sitting at number 5 on the deep house best sellers list on Juno.

We were of course naturally quite curious to find out some more details about the new project and managed to get some further insight from Giuseppe himself, as well as a fresh mix with current and forthcoming Apparel Wax gems. Read the full interview below!

Globetrotting Moscow-based DJ and producer Lay-Far and has been a long term favourite of ours. With stellar releases on top notch labels such as Local Talk, BBE, Atjazz Record Company, 4 Lux & G.A.M.M. We’ve managed to hold him down long enough to get this funk odyssey of a mix from him. Taking us through his expansive taste in rare disco, boogie, house, bass & afro grooves.

We’ve got word he’s wrapping up his 3rd LP! alongside some secret projects, so 2018 is set to be a big one for sure. Also keep an eye on the record shelves around the 24th November for his new vinyl only Lay-Far Re-Edits release on Version Galore.
