This mix was recorded live at the Mareh Music 2022 NYE party on the "Secret Island" in Bahia, Brazil!!!!! I had such a blast playing on the stage along side some of my favorite DJ's.  What a pleasure it was to see all the beautiful people enjoying the night and eventually the sun together. It's always a great reward to see the smiling faces and dancing bodies groove to your selection. 
So for those that couldn't make it,  or for those that want to revisit that time, I hope this mix brings you as much joy as it has given me to play the music.

Globetrotting Moscow-based DJ and producer Lay-Far and has been a long term favourite of ours. With stellar releases on top notch labels such as Local Talk, BBE, Atjazz Record Company, 4 Lux & G.A.M.M. We’ve managed to hold him down long enough to get this funk odyssey of a mix from him. Taking us through his expansive taste in rare disco, boogie, house, bass & afro grooves.

We’ve got word he’s wrapping up his 3rd LP! alongside some secret projects, so 2018 is set to be a big one for sure. Also keep an eye on the record shelves around the 24th November for his new vinyl only Lay-Far Re-Edits release on Version Galore.

I have done the mix to celebrate the release of Paz e Futebol, Volume 3 compilation compiled by Junior Santos.

Over time, Junior and I developed a friendship based upon listening, talking, analyzing and trading Brazilian music.

When the idea came up to let Junior compile Volume 3, I was so thrilled that I even agreed to change the original concept of our Paz e Futebol series. Namely to compile Brazilian influenced music from all over the world be it from the past or the present. 

Junior, however, selected 8 fantastic recordings made in Brazil from the 80's which throw a bridge from major released recordings to independently organised releases. 

This mix features some of those recordings but it also pays homage to the original concept of Paz e Futebol and features actual productions with a Brazilian taste as well. Additionally, the mix presents recordings which might be part of one of the next Paz e Futebol volumes. Enjoy:)

For our 17th mix we are truly blessed to welcome a producer @scruscru who is smashing it at the moment, releasing tracks left, right and centre, with flavours of vintage Jazz, Rare Disco and Funk all infused in a dance coating. With releases on labels such as @Outplay, @SlothBoogie, @ravanellidiscoclub, @deeppamusic and a beautiful new EP South Wind, Clear Sky on @omena-records which is out on the 1st of March... there are no signs that he is slowing down anytime soon!
