A New Day

This track took me out of my comfort zone. Up to this point in my career, I had only worked with rock and metal artists. I had just built my studio and began advertising as Razortoe Productions. PROPL3X approached me looking for work and I agreed to take on the project. 

We recorded the hook with local singer Jordan Schrade and the rap pieces were recorded by Cody Ross and Cody Pringle, both of Sidney, NE. I did not produce the beat, but I recorded the vocals and mixed and mastered the track. Based on the timeline, I guess I can say this is officially my first serious track to come from Razortoe Productions.

Sacrifices by PROPL3X feat. Jordan Schrade (2011)

My life in Colorado became quite hectic, and numerous extraordinary events unfolded. While I had been working on music occasionally, my dedication had significantly diminished compared to my previous years. There were compelling reasons behind this. I had reconnected with an incredible woman, and that’s a story I don’t have the time or space to delve into here.

When my lease ended, we moved into her parents’ basement to save up and plan our next move. It was then that I decided to write a heartfelt song for her. This was a departure from my usual songwriting style, as my music had often been aggressive or focused on loss. This moment of personal growth led me to create this song.

In short, this is the song I composed for her, and I played it live at our wedding. Her father and mine joined in, playing alongside me as we celebrated our union.

This song was included on my second solo album,"Find the Light” and I must admit, it’s the only one I genuinely enjoyed from that album. The album was recorded in her parents’ basement bedroom with limitied gear and space.
