Wiggly, spellbinding sounds for number sixty seven from Montreal based NAP (@napmusick) aka Daniel Rincón. 

The talented Colombian/ Canadian artist is known for his solo productions, as well as @ambien-baby alongside @d-tiffany, and La Fe, a collaboration between him and Michael Red. He also runs his own label, Isla (@sonidoisla). Through any respective alias or project, Daniel has an amazing array of eclectic  sounds on offer.

This mix is yet another showcase of his diverse and exciting musical taste. I'm so happy to have him as part of the series.

Donovan's Summer Promo Mix

This month is a special one, and our first ever tandem interview — joining me for a Freerotation special are the festival’s founders @Steevio and @Suzybee. 

Influenced by the free festival movement around the UK in the 1990s, Steevio and Suzy created Freerotation, an annual gathering of music and arts which now takes place in Baskerville Hall, Wales, and has, since its inception in the mid 2000s, become one of the scene’s best loved festivals. Kept relatively small and amongst friends and friends of friends, Freerotation is known for its thoughtful curation of both DJs, live acts, and VJs, and its intimate, familial setting. 

In this conversation, Steevio, Suzy and I get into the festival’s early days and its direction and curation today, plus their own personal histories in art and music, and their distinctive creative philosophies.

The Lodge is an annual event that brings friends and artists together in  a Washington forest. Every year the event seems to get better and this year was no exception. It's a privilege to organize year after year.

“Natif” (Stalactite - in hebrew) is a seventh tracks EP by Tel-Aviv based DJ and producer MYKI.

Any substance, water drip or murmur reveals a cloak of meaning in the form of a showy echo.

a variety of ancient animals, forbidden imaginary fruits and mysterious passions sneak in at night and look for a place of refuge to rest, to sleep.

The stalactites (Natif) are amorphous juice from the bottom of the mind, they are the seeds of confusion and irrationality and they seep through cracks in the cave and produce chaos and trembling until suddenly, out of a nightmare are born proud crystals of splendor and inspiring beauty.

Surely one of the best DJs in the game of House Music, Gene has not only presented killer mix after killer mix showcasting the immense depth of his collection, he also is a very good producer himself - constantly raising the bar on his very own "Limousine Dream" imprint. 

For 5918mins., Gene slows things down a couple of BPM and leads us through the downtempo side of things, with the same combination of thorough- and playfulness that has become a hallmark of his mixes. We're very happy to have him onboard and will patiently wait in line for track IDs. Enjoy!
