Inspired by René Laloux's film and the universe that emerges from it, Safar unveils this EP composed of 5 deep yet percutive tracks, which emulates a feeling of melancholy evolving throughout the project. 

La “Planète Sauvage” is a poetic adaptation of Stefan Wul's novel. Representing humans reduced to the rank of pets of the gigantic Draags, Laloux stages a reflection on intelligence, society, politics and human nature.

The draags live on the planet Ygam. Their existence flows slowly, entirely turned towards meditation. The children of the draags love tiny pets, the oms, brought back from a distant and devastated planet, Terra. Some draags even consider this species as a pest.

A rise in power unfolds along the first side with broken and lunar rhythms. The second side invites us to a slow and deep dance with pads sending our body and mind in this fascinating world.

In time for the holiday season is a gift from the Belgium based imprint, Initiate Records and their ‘Winter Nights’ compilation. The release clocks in at an impressive 28 tracks centered around a common idea as the label states, ‘we asked the artists to follow the theme of “long winter nights” and to translate that emotion into music. What results is a varied compilation going from lightness to darkness.’

Our premiere for today was born from the mind of Box 5ive. With prior releases on Well Street, Comic Sans, and Twin Systems, the London artist is steadily growing a solid repertoire. Starting off with disembodied voices and warm bass lines, Duty Free evokes whispery scenes of wind swept roads, those moments of travel late at night, where none are around. The ever present serenity, and introspection as sounds are muted by snow, the only companion, the thoughts within one's mind.

Duty Free, and the rest of the Winter Nights compilation will be released on the 23rd, of December.

"The Birth of Mist" is set at the beginning of a water steam, in the morning of the world. The artist continues to draw attention to living beings, using a luminous vocabulary. The listener is bathed in colorful sounds and rhythms, contemplating a liquid, shifting landscape that the mist reveals in bits over the course of the 9 compositions.

The story is written and told as you listen, the sounds appear and disappear, each composition inhabits you. The progression of the album is formed of blurred contours, inviting us to tirelessly follow these misty sonic paths.

This EP, entitled “Silv'ahn”, bears witness to a deep artistic reflection. Inspired by recordings from the Skåne region (Sweden), Martinou sounds a connection with nature, magnifying stone, salt and wood. The result is, of course, Martinou's own unique aesthetic: pared-down, emotional tracks underpinned by a groove charged with magic.

The tracks “Boulder ridge” and “Sanctuary” reflect an immersion in the peaceful landscapes of the Röstånga nature reserve. In contrast, “Passage of the Silv'ahn” adds an epic touch to the EP, with menacing beings moving through the misty woods. Finally, Orion's remix extends the intrigue with hypnotic techno tinged with wonder.

[PREVIEW] GLKS1 - Alternate [PITCH36]

Today is a special one in the Delayed world as we’re overjoyed to premiere a tune from the second release on our label, Never Late. The culmination of many months of work, the release day is rapidly approaching, and we could be none the happier. For our second musical guest, we look to Basel-based artist Mjulev and his intimate album titled ‘Clouds Are The Better Birds’. Spanning 8 tracks, Mjulev guides listeners gently into his auditory psyche as he states about the album, 

"Clouds are the better birds - It becomes clear only through observing the clouds how slowly they float up there, so detached from everything that drives us down here. Truly liberated from the forward push and the hustle and bustle, from left to right, from branch to branch, always on guard, not to be accidentally eaten by a cat.

They just float, sometimes darker, sometimes lighter, sometimes faster, sometimes slower. When they meet, they merge and then continue floating as if they had always been one. Looking up feels so timeless. A longing that cannot be satisfied down here. It is omnipresent, but sometimes I manage, just for brief moments, but these are enough to understand what it would be like to be a cloud.

The special thing about the album for me is that it was not created in situations where I was a bird. It was created in moments where I had the headspace to be a cloud, and if it helps others to be like a cloud even just for a short time, then it was worth it, because these moments have become very rare.”

Our premiere, ‘Birds On Acid’ is the final track on the release, a rhythmic come-down that tugs at the heartstrings. Evoking a sense of finality and completeness. The plucks and textures play well with each other, complimenting both the analog fuzz and bright synths. Key features of the entire release.

Birds On Acid, as well in turn, ‘Clouds Are The Better Birds’ will be released on April 12th, so stay tuned.
