Newwww Birdcast from none other than the magnificent and a true pioneer @jayeward. Back before acid house changed the world, Jaye was already ploughing a unique path playing weird and wonky musics of all flavours at squat parties and industrial based do’s, she flung herself whole heartedly and without concern for her safety into the oncoming tsunami of what we would end up tagging as house, techno or the multitude of varying descriptive titles it has been given and has stayed true to ‘our thing’ ever since.

Dancing wildly at dirt box, the mutoid waste parties, the Hacienda, Ministry of Sound, Tonka, Moist, Sabresonic set her up for the ‘90s where, while Jaye was behind the counters of a number of Soho record shops during the day and doing the ambient ‘creamy meat’ show as bish on the legendary Chillin’ FM pirate radio, she was often found behind the decks at the legendary WANG parties, the back room at Golden in Stoke on Trent, her residency at London’s sadly defunct END with the ‘for your pleasure’ crew and numerous long gone all nighters and late into the night dark room parties. Getting her second wind at the start of the 00’s via the ‘Softmachine’ parties she ran alongside George ‘Black Merlin’ and Kyle & Johnny from ‘Land of Light’ she’s been playing regularly across the country for numerous nights such as LOVE MUSCLE & COSMIC SLOP in Leeds, HOMO BLOC & KISS ME AGAIN in Manchester and further a field as a resident at the KALA festival as well as Field Maneuvers, Love International and dimensions in Croatia. She is also the resident at long running & fiercely loyally supported Bristol party PLU, alongside Ranks which has carved out a name for interesting left of centre guests and a distinctly gnarly music policy. As well as a bi-monthly ambient tinged ‘starmaps’ show of MUTANT RADIO Jaye also runs the long running weekly monday night ‘FIBS’ show named after her record label of teh same name on Netil Radio, from which she broadcasts a weekly dose of all things.
For this occasion Jaye recorded a mix for the Bird series in the vein of the first one - a whirl and twirl of spacey dreamscapes and echoes from paralel ambient worlds. Dive in and through.

Jakobin lays the foundation with the bubbly, trance infused 'Drawan', follows up with the spooky, upbeat electro of 'Skulpt', and finishes off with 'Octagonial Tribe', a track that oscillates between laid back melodies and squelchy acid sequences.
On the flip-side, ROTCIV showcases his signature style of industrial new beat madness: 'Frenesy' marries breakbeats with syncopated synthesizer sequences, 'No More Room in Hell' sound like a late 80s Italo Disco instrumental on steroids, while 'The Confidence' opts for broken beats and ethereal FM-flutes. As a digital bonus, ROTCIV gifts us with a heavy hitting, acid infused track by the name of 'Living Art'.

After releasing the banger “Keep It Strong” one year ago, Patricio Diaz is back with his very first release.

The eponym track “Nights Lights” is a pure track mixing Trance and Italo influences.
An ode to gathering and smiling on the dancefloor.

“Walking At Dawn”, always with a trance touch, a little faster, is the perfect track to let you go. By the way, the track groove seems straight out of a 80s road movie.
 
ROTCIV signs here a mental, dark, almost disturbing remix.
But faithful to its origins, he brings an undeniable disco side too.
A transcendental music for the robots !

To close the strong release, Theo Scuera brings to “Night Lights” a more progressive 90s touch. Music to be experienced only by tapping your feet loudly and jumping on the dancefloor.

Melodize kicks off 2025 with a bang, celebrating their 5th anniversary with their 17th release: a carefully curated compilation by label manager Beartrax.

To set the tone, Berlin-based producer Rotciv makes his return to Melodize with "Altered State": this track combines a driving, EBM-inspired bassline with a progressive build, blending trippy, atmospheric and acid-infused sounds. The bar is set high!

Next, Berlin's PCL steps in with "I Want a Bad Girl", a track that fuses new wave and Italo disco. Expect a chunky bassline, shimmering 80s-style synth melodies, and irresistibly groovy rhythms.

Dutch producer Laion turns up the intensity with an exquisite indie dance track that balances phat grooves, lush melodies, and beautifully layered harmonies. This one’s guaranteed to leave its mark on any dancefloor.

Spanish duo Undo & Casiowaves take the mood in a different direction with their mesmerising electro-pop ballad. Melancholic yet uplifting, the track features vocals and guitars reminiscent of The Cure, creating an atmospheric lullaby that invites you to close your eyes and drift away.

Berlin's rising star Micropacer follows with a dazzling homage to Daft Punk. Featuring vocoded vocals, sleek synth arpeggios, classy bass transitions and an enchanting melody that lingers in your mind, Armin truly delivers.

Switching gears, British producer Louis de Tomaso delivers "Aurora", a powerful track that epitomises his signature style. Combine a hefty bassline, layered synth leads, lush pads, and an unrelenting rhythm, and you get a powerful, tension-filled piece rooted in EBM.

Crossing the channel, French producer Back From The Wave brings us "Saturated Love", evoking the early sounds of Scratch Massive and The Hacker. It’s a dark yet delicate track brimming with emotion and sonic depth.

Another well-known French artist, Nhar, now based in Milan, takes over with "Subspace", a deep and captivating track driven by a strong offbeat bassline and sublime pads. Evoking Balearic sounds reminiscent of José Padilla, it’s a piece that will transport you straight to Café del Mar.

Finally, the compilation wraps up with label boss Beartrax himself, who delivers "Discrepancy". Blending film score influences with classical elements, this signature track features Beartrax’s beloved violin melodies alongside atmospheric electronic harmonies, closing the release on a high note.

Hailing from Brazil, ROTCIV has been shaping the electronic music scene since he began DJing in 1996. At a time when access to records and information was limited, he played an instrumental role in fostering the growth of electronic music culture in his home country. His decades-long career reflects an enduring passion for creating dynamic DJ sets and producing music that connects the sounds of the past with modern influences.

In 2008, ROTCIV launched Mister Mistery, a record label focused on acid, disco, house, electro, and edits inspired by the classic sounds of the 80s and 90s. By merging vintage aesthetics with contemporary approaches, the label has earned widespread acclaim for its forward-thinking releases.

Since adopting the name ROTCIV in 2005, his productions have been featured on prestigious labels like Permanent Vacation, Ombra International, Live at Robert Johnson, or Full Pupp, showcasing his versatility and creative talent.

After relocating to Berlin in 2010, ROTCIV became a significant figure in the city’s underground music scene. In 2011, ROTCIV partnered with Italian producer Massimiliano Pagliara to form The Rimshooters, expanding his creative endeavors. 

He regularly performs at iconic venues such as Panorama Bar, Lab.oratory, Cocktail d’Amore, Wilde Renate, Else, and Sisyphos, delivering carefully curated sets that energize dance floors. Beyond Berlin, he tours extensively across Europe and Brazil, performing in cities like São Paulo, Paris, London, and Moscow.

His DJ sets, characterized by acid grooves, funky rhythms, and nostalgic yet innovative sounds, have made him a standout in global rave culture.

From São Paulo's vibrant parties to Europe’s most renowned clubs, ROTCIV continues to leave his mark on the electronic music world with his passion, talent, and dedication.
