Paulo Chagas and I have made a number of internet collaborative albums together.
So when he said, let’s invite Henry Koek to join us, I did not fully know what would happen.

Henry Koek writes cosmic poems and makes shaman sounding percussive music,
so to our pleasure,….that is what blended into our mixes.

We invite you to partake with our poems set with music, and three instrumentals,
with a shaman inspired tone with all of our pieces. Please hear the music, like and comment!

This first album preview piece for commenting is based on a poem that Henry Koek wrote.

Living Words

Paulo Chagas lives in Portugal and I in the USA.
We agreed to make this album by sharing music files over the internet.

While we worked on this album, 
making music for a peaceful world was on our mind.

All over the world, 
tensions, conflicts, suppressions and violence
of one group over another have arisen.

As musical artists, we believe that our artistic process 
demonstrates what we wish for the world,
paraphrasing Ghandi’s 
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world”:

Create agreements and honor them

Listen carefully, respond with care

Openly point out problems, openly work to fix them

Create music that acknowledges conflict but also overcomes it

Support the spirit of engaged creativity

Support joyful life

induce, produce, extrude and include
a common man’s somewhat hesitant awe
while AI assures it is ready to reboot

government agents raid homes in the nude
who will have seen claim that they saw
man’s not as nubile as a lemur
earth holds more ocean than there are fish

this is all dead weight, in the interim
learn to let go, the weltgeist insists
your heart is as pure as the code on the bin
a bird, a feather, an item, no lists
