There's a significant chance you've come across the name Asphalt DJ, also known as Doron Retig, recently. The Berlin-based DJ and producer has been riding an unstoppable wave since the release of his first EP 'Now & Zen' in 2022, in collaboration with his close friend Gzardin. In less than a year, he has released music on Oddysee, Gestalt, Tofistock, One Eye Witness, and has upcoming releases scheduled on Glow Mid and Haŵs. 

He grew up being surrounded by psychedelic music stemming from the late 80’s and 90’s. Whether he found himself listening to rock, pop, experimental music, house, techno or 90's trance; the use of psychedelic sounds is prevelant in his musical journey, and its influence on Doron is evident in his productions and sets.

The mix is a one-hour-long locked groove, consisting of thumping and hypnotising bass lines, combined with uplifting melodies and deep strings that reach to your core. It allows you to soothe out while simultaneously keeping you in an unpropelled dance zone. It's a high-energy house train that smoothly rides through UK and US house, 90s Detroit influences, and some of his unreleased tracks that showcase his signature house sound, shaped by his roots. Parisian multi-faceted artist Thomas Guillemot, better known under his moniker NairLess, has been quite busy lately. With releases on Demi Requisimo's Semi Delicious, an outing on Radiant and his highly acclaimed First Wave EP on Rhode & Brown's Slam City Jams his latest works synonymously stand for the producer and pianist's high ambitious and surely have raised expectations towards the artist's musical outings. However, it's safe to say that NairLess most likely will meet those expectations as he's already now music in the pipe and ready to drop. Until then the vinyl-digger helps to pass the time with his latest art:cast, a conglomerate of House with a slight touch of Trance and Progressive-influences and definitely aiming to ring in the weekend. Sun is shining and the next guests for Re-Leaf radio couldn’t have soundtracked this day any better! We are pleased to present EP 009 courtesy of Melbourne based duo Midnight Boil aka DJs Casper Collins and DJ Juice. 

They first caught our attention with their epic vinyl only streamed mix from the @area3000 studios a couple of months back and they certainly didn’t disappoint with this one either! Originating as a renegade rave run from the tray of ute, Midnight Boil swiftly evolved into a series of electrifying raves that adorned the streets of inner Naarm and Eora. Obsessively digging for many years, they have curated a sound pulsating with nostalgic rhythms, uplifting melodies and dark grooves. Infused with the spirited aura of the 90s, Midnight Boil have remained dedicated to unpretentious revelry, infusing each performance with an infectious sense of fun and euphoria. 
All music in this mix is from the period that influenced them so heavily: 1992-1996.
