Kai Rodriguez makes his debut outing on Hot Creations, delivering his two-track ‘The Thrill’ EP. 

With his late-2021 Hottrax debut ‘Underground’, DJ/producer Kai Rodriguez gave the house scene a first glimpse  of what’s to come with the 25-year-old UK talent’s breakthrough release remaining in heavy rotation for head  honcho Jamie Jones across the Ibiza season and beyond. Having since featured on bubbling US imprint Revival  New York, he steps things up a level as he reveals his first material of 2023 and his Hot Creations debut with ‘The Thrill’.
 
“Empire of the sun have got to be up there as being one of my favourite electronic duos of all time. They  had a huge influence on the EP and it’s inception. ‘Walking on a Dream’ is one of their more popular and  classic tracks and resonates with me. 2022 was a year of successes within my musical career, and a sign  that I am on the right path towards the things I want to achieve. I wanted to amalgamate that with a piece  of music, and from this idea, ‘The Thrill’ came into fruition.  

‘Sum’ Bout’ was a track that I’d be sitting on for a while. It was one of my first tracks that had genuine  positive feedback from artists that I look up to, and felt that the sound really complimented ‘The Thrill’. I’m  glad that it’s found a good home. I’d like to thank JJ again for believing in the sound and giving me this opportunity, I’m forever grateful.” - Kai Rodriguez
  
Lead track ‘The Thrill’ harnesses the iconic vocal known across the globe but switches things up, contrasting the  vibrant tones with murky low-ends and metallic percussion for a no-nonsense cut main for main rooms, while  ‘Sum’ Bout’ takes a drum-driven path as skippy hats and warped snippets ebb and flow amongst the mix for more  peak time material.

Deep basses and driving rhythm with melodic aspects, climbing up with energy. A track for dancing or workout as it is full of energy. 

But this beat is also produced for reflecting as I want to address a problem many of us are navigating towards by not seeing how great they are. 

"Oops" is a piece of electronic music which is dedicated to the fact that many of us are people pleasers. We are trying to match the expectations of many people in our social environment, no matter if in real-life relationships or social media. With that we are set to fail as this is impossible. We are facing internal tension as we are everything but not ourselves. We encounter frustration as we are not matching the exceptions neither we are who we really want to be. We are caught in a life-trap. Be smarter, recognise how awesome you are and just try to be the best version of yourself by focusing on what you really want to be.
