PREMIERE: Ellroy — Vinho Da Jurema [Sonic Safari]

Sonic Safari continues its mission of global groove exploration with its seventh release, the "Silk Road EP", a brilliant collaboration between Kanaa Knight and rBert.

Teaming up for the first time, the pair deliver a stunning two-tracker that journeys deep into the heart of ancient trade routes, merging history and mysticism through ethno-tinged organic house.

Opening with the title track "Silk Road", the duo create a soundscape steeped in dusty caravan trails and twilight bazaars. Rolling percussion lays the foundation, while hypnotic melodies and intricate string textures weave like merchants through a crowded souk. Ethereal pads, subtle flutes, and distant vocal murmurs echo like stories passed from traveller to traveller, evoking a profound sense of groove and mystery.

On the flip, "Letters From Samarkand" dives even further into introspective territory. Anchored by a minimalist groove and a percussive shuffle, this piece drips with atmosphere. Vocal chants float in and out like forgotten prayers, while airy pads and celestial chords shimmer across the mix.

Boss-man behind The Purr Music, Jelly For The Babies debuts on the label with an awesome remix that transports the listener into an even deeper territory with his laid-back but modernized mid 90's vibe.

Last but certainly not least, we welcome Kollektiv SGP who delivers a killer remix. Having released on DeepClass Records, Elektik Dreams Music and Stellar Fountain to name but a few, he debut on Ready Mix with a dancefloor ready weapon. He tightens all the elements, opens up the chords, adds some old school strings/pads and embarks on an eight-minute journey.

'The Wizard' Mika Olson returns to the label for our 150th release and his latest hit single 'What I Need' Featuring the awesome vocals of Dutch Singer/Songwriter/Artist 'Jermaine Fleur'.

Together, they've created a timeless piece of art that crosses boundaries, bends genres and breaks the rules. Deep, passionate, heartfelt, sophisticated and made with lots of love and a whole lot of technical and studio knowledge. 

Mika re-writes the infamous riff from Toto's 'Africa' and owns it like a boss. His attention to detail and engineering qualities are second to none. He surgically adds sounds, instruments and layers to highlight special moments, provoke emotions and stimulate feelings.

On remix duties, we're really excited to welcome Soul Minority and Robot Needs Oil to the label's artist family as well as the return of our veteran tribe member Stan Kolev.
