Dutch was never destined for a normal life, he was never meant to follow in his families footsteps, working in shipyards or down the mines in the North East of England, he didn’t see a life for himself built on laborious routine, punching in and out and living an industrial monotony, so suffocated by small town narrow mindedness and everyone’s lack of ambition he decided to seek out fame and fortune and embark on his own adventure, so at the tender age of 12 he set off on an epic journey, which lead him to join the circus in Russia.

Life in the circus however was not all it cracked up to be, ending up in the Moscow State Circus B Team, he was basically forced to be a slave, sometimes doing up to four performances a day for next to nothing, as well as the bravest member of the circus Dutch got his name by performing death defying tight rope walking routines and fire flying trapeze acrobatics.

Along with friends Ali Khan III, the Lion Tamer and Carlos the Cannonball Kid, they would sit around drinking and jamming  the blues, talking at length of their desire to escape the prison of the circus, and they finally got their opportunity one snowy night in Eastern Europe when on their way to another performance in Sofia when their transporter carriage crashed head on with a beer truck and amidst all the carnage, they fled. 

times got even harder for the guys, although now they were content with being skint as they were finally free, they lived rough as street performers and musicians, using their skills and abilities learnt from the circus to raise funds busking, raising enough money for food and liquor and gradually  hitchhiking their way across the continent and making it back to Dutch’s motherland where they now all reside in a one room bedsit in Byker, polishing their act, rehearsing day and night and working on material for their debut album, these guys are hungry for success so when this circus comes to your town you better get ready to ROLL UP, ROLL UP!
