D.Dan at HÖR BERLIN, June 14 2023

Strongly shaped by the raw and forward-leaning sound of 90’s Techno, Milan based artist Alarico Zucchi started his journey into electronic music in 2015 making his way through clubs as a DJ while learning the art of music production. 

The inauguration of ‘Alarico’ occurred in 2019 after previously exploring several sub-genres of Techno. The alias was formed as a statement to showcase a style that was personal to him. Personal in a way that he became captivated within the patterns and structures of his own sound. So-much-so that his multiple our long podcasts solely consisting of his own material made him stand out from a whole host of young and promising producers and DJs. 

Known for fast paced rhythms and kinky grooves he has released music consistently since his debut in 2020 on Joton’s imprint “Newrhytmic Records”. Shortly after he launched his own vinyl imprint “Katana Records”, which showcases the more mental and introverted side of his idea of Techno. He certainly cemented his rank in today’s Techno landscape through releases on Matrixxman’s highly acclaimed “The Grid”, Token Records and sees a bright future with a forthcoming release on SHDW & Obscure Shape’s newest endeavour “Mutual Rytm”. 

Alarico continues to position himself as a unique music lover, exploring the depths and possibilities of sound. He stands for permanently pushing boundaries and stirring this attitude with his background of Hip Hop and Japanese culture.

Blue Hour — a time of day similar to dawn, dusk and the three stages of twilight. It doesn't have one definition, and its colour is neutral, not blue. Like Luke Standing's alias 'Blue Hour' suggests, his sound doesn't slip into any one category.

The Berlin-based producer, DJ and head of the ‘Blue Hour Music' record label blurs the lines between Acid Techno, old school Rave, Breakbeat, Jungle and Leftfield to create a mirage of hazy euphoria and explore a narrative of timeless music unbound by geography and scene.

Hailing from the UK, Luke discovered dance music in Brighton and London where, as a teenager, the ferocious notes of DnB and Jungle drew him towards raves operating in each city. Quintessential artists and labels of time started the foundations of Luke's vinyl collection before reaching wider with UK Bass, Techno, Trance and IDM slipping into his record bag.

As a student in the thralls of Bristol's 2007 club scene, Luke started to DJ, promote parties and produce music under the names 'Furesshu' and 'Esoteric'. A handful of releases went out under these monikers marking Luke's entry point into production but as the Bristol circuit drew him into a cross-pollination of Dubstep and Techno, his ear inevitably turned. Catching the bug for Techno, Luke frequently visited Berlin to satisfy an urge to discover more artists and events aligned with the genre.

With a natural progression to the soundscape of Techno, Luke relocated to Berlin in 2011 and soon after launched the resolutely independent project 'Blue Hour' and label of the same name. Several years into the project, Luke has released pivotal records with a distinctive sound driven by the spirit and energy of the '90s, and in turn, welcomed into some of the most prolific spaces worldwide including Berghain, Fold, fabric, Blitz and Robert Johnson.

With an ethos to evolve and support compelling artists, the door of 'Blue Hour Music' opens up, releasing the work of Alpha Tracks and Dold along the way, as well as gaining the reputation of a respected and important outlet for Techno. The acclaimed 'Remixed' series on the 'Blue Hour Music' imprint saw Steffi, Pangaea, Hector Oaks and many more re-working his music. Now completed, new remix projects and collaborative ventures take focus in its place, including collaborative releases with Copenhagen's Fast Forward and UTE from Oslo. In late 2020, Luke reestablished the 'Tracing Xircles' project with Berlin-based producer A-JX, where the pair mutate UK and Detroit techno flavours with a retro-futuristic twist.

2021 signified the launch of a new sub-label together with Swedish DJ Philippa Pacho. The label called positive source "aims to push progressive attitudes in dance music while paying homage to our roots in early club culture.”

Luke's personal creative output continues to develop and expand with solo, collaborative projects, compilation contributions and commissioned remixes, connecting him to the ever-changing landscape of Techno and its sprawling sub-genres.

It's safe to say that the sound of ‘Blue Hour’ and his respective labels are weaved into the expansive realm of the electronic music community but Luke strikes an unparalleled chord within it.

@Anethamusic is a trained Architect based in Paris, now fully dedicated to music and focused on developing her career as a DJ, producer, and Label Manager.
As a leading figure of the new generation of French DJs inspired by EBM, trance, electro and old school 90’s techno tracks, Anetha knows how to make people dance. She always tries to offer an intense, energetic and unpredictable journey to her public, with a strong and fresh tracks’ selection.

Production-wise, Anetha has released her first EP on Work Them Records in 2015 and tracks on different labels since then, including a successful one called Acid Train on the great Anagram imprint in 2017. In 2018, she released two acid ravy tracks alongside the talented Hector Oaks on a split EP and another EP called Bionic Romance on Blocaus Series, the first imprint she had co-founded with her collective since 2016 to develop the French local scene.
And now, she’s managing her brand-new solo project called Mama told ya – a label focused on sharing and experimentations which promotes alternative talents and different forms of art while seeking to push boundaries through the release of some unprecedented collaborative tracks.
The first release of Mama told ya set to release later this month is a split EP containing tracks from Fast Forwards own Sugar.
Anetha is also to perform at the upcoming 4 Years of Fast Forward the 2nd of November in Copenhagen.
