Aaron Burnett was born October 14th, 1981 in Lemoore, CA. Born with a natural talent for visual art, he began to study classical saxophone at the age 11. From then on he became interested in jazz music around the age of 16 and then began his musical journey into improvised music. After attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for classical and jazz performance from 1999-2001, he discontinued his schooling there and relocated to Boston in which attended Berklee College of Music for classical composition from 2005-2008, eventually graduating with a degree in Professional Music. Aaron has always stressed the importance of establishing a unique sound for himself while in college, studying classical Baroque composition techniques, studying advance harmony, world music, and atonal composition. Aaron was awarded his first Grammy certificate for his feature on "With Others" on Esperanza Spalding's 2020 grammy winning album "12 Little Spells".  He has also performed with numerous great musicians such as Vijay Iyer, Teri Lyne Carrington, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Michelle Rosewoman, Jeff Tain Watts, Kim Thompson,Esperanza Spalding's Radio Music Society,  just to name a few. Aaron has the also retained the true nature of jazz in his music and his playing, constantly searching for new ways of interpreting the music while remaining modern and consistent with the times we live in coupled with his much appreciated love for the greats of jazz and the tradition by establishing his role as an innovater within this art. In a society ruled by corporations and banks its imperative that the music is reflective of these times and that true innovation is once again a centerpiece of jazz once again. Aaron Burnett has made this his mission to provide people with the sounds of this time and into the future.

Ascension through Sensory Stimulation

A visual artist for the last 22 years, he has been an essential part of the Electronic Music Scene since the early 90’s. As CEO of Funktaxi 1533, one of the most known visual collectives from NYC, he has designed various clubs around the world and participated in some of the biggest events in the US. His work has been exhibited in various Galleries, Museums, Clubs, and Festivals around the world. Has exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas Venezuela 2 times. Has Exhibited in the Christian Dior Biennale. His work has been part of shows in galleries like: Here Gallery (NYC), Anthology Film Archives Gallery and theatre (NYC), Artist Space (NYC), CBGB’ Gallery (NYC), Purple Gallery (LA), Salon Mendoza (CCS, Venezuela) and Exit Art Gallery (NYC) among others. Also was part of the World Fair in Portugal 1998 for Amazonian Project Fashion show. His Permanent installs consist of:

He has Vj’d alongside some of the biggest Dj’s and electronic bands in the world, among them: Carl Cox, Ritchie Hawtin, Danny Tenaglia, Crystal Method, Moby, Darren Emerson, Carl Craig, Goldie, Matchbox 20, The Roots, Jay Z, Orbital, Green Velvet, Autechre, Felix da Housecat, Eats Everything. His life has been engulfed in a video tirade. As once introduced in an event: “Collecting from life experiences that rival philosophers and rock stars, Mau creates a visual symphony that soothes or disturbs at his pleasure.”
