I'm lead by the open acceptance I feel when I listen to free jazz, the way Ornette Coleman (I saw him play, he winked at me,  dancing. with the tip of his head, so good )  builds this space for me to feel looser than normal. Free Jazz and pop. But take up the punk DIY Democratic project and instead of being a highly trained member of the status quo standard madness, be someone who doesn't have particular training, just a love a desire and a knowledge of that feeling of loose freedom that comes when I'm really listening and then let go and just make noise to hear it being said. 

I had this idea, that listening to the music I loved, that there seemed to be a core tune that they would sing in slightly different ways. As if there was an inevitableness, to it. I gravitated to this inevitability idea, that this was a pivotal door that I could gain access as a non musician, someone who didn't want to know music as a musician.  Regardless of musical ability or style, there existed this tune. I seek sometimes, to discover this tune. To hear it. I play this music back. And yes I'm embarrassed that I haven fallen so hook line and sinker for such a stinker. But the enjoyment of hearing these noises, regardless of who made them, gives me such a tickle. I sometimes hear myself, but really it seems like some one else. Someone I don't know. But I want to. I want to hear what fuck they are saying. 

The Homeric Hero, Piano. I usually start with notes. Notes I've made, that I'm making. The books and books of notes I keep. To look at one spins me out, Can I have said that! Does this mean what I say it means? Does this make sense. And then, so far, when I really want to mount the piano, with something, I’ll find one bit resonate with me open some familiar pit, I’ll stare and not see anything, I think that's interesting I think I want to see what's in there. Then I go look.  I recognise a feeling in my body, a bubble of trapped air that wants to get out. And I plan and implement a path for the release of this feeling. I don't want to make music but I want to find sounds and moments of music that I don't know how to play or how I played. That the sounds of the paths the bubble takes out of me that I don't understand this with my head, blind man reaching out for sounds on a field of dark to light, this movement places, glances, as it lands past the many pedestals and flutterers, fettered all bets are off and chains melt into air. 

and so the piano as in Dada and early Fluxus, becomes a site for operation. Not in the service of capitalist values and returns. Existing on a very real different economic system, one with real consequences with if you mess with. I survive well, I know the system well. It is possible to live, I need permission to live. That is the problem. Stop asking me to ask your permission. I signed on democracy already I need no other credentials. I'll have freedom from the constraints of capitalist commercialism provided as is already by Democratic Socialism, the core of shared wealth taxs. And I do this, knowing that I will be tarred and feathered for admitting my belonging to a group that steals 32 million dollars a year to stop them from dying. And how these people who I am one, are said to be the reason for poverty, as if they just gave up didn't know how to work didn't have the zest for life, to be a WINZ Winner. All to stop anyone with any conscience from noticing the thousand million dollars stolen by the richest in our communities, rich and poor alike. All ripped off at a billion a year and this is said to be a conservative estimate.
