2016 is looking like a super exciting year for FOXTALES.

With their self-titled debut EP to be released this spring, they have a number of gigs lined up across the country to coincide with release.
FOXTALES are a mostly girl band, made up of four girls, and one boy; Amy (guitar/vocals) Cassie (guitar/vocals) Angela (mandolin/vocals) Briony (bass) and The Scoon (drums). They create a dark psychedelic folk, woven with glittering harmonies that tell stories of lust, love and loss.

An album of “soul achingly rich acoustic landscapes”

PARENT are Rachel Kern (voice) and Jason Brown (guitar). Following a random meeting in a Manchester park in 2013 when they were there with their respective children, polite parental chit-chat soon exposed a common interest in music and the arts. 

Following a few early gigs playing acoustic versions of material from Rachel’s previously released electronica album, creative juices started to flow and the duo started writing what has morphed into their debut album. 

The album consists of 12 beautifully crafted songs with bespoke string arrangements by Sarah Brandwood-Spencer. Lyrically the songs cover a range of topics including delicate issues such as personal loss through to more universal topics including mental health and well being, an area the duo feel passionately about. 

The upload of their song “You’re Not Broken” to Soundcloud in November 2015 was met with a hugely positive response. CHRIS DIFFORD from Squeeze described this song as simply "wonderful" and they received airplay from TOM ROBINSON on his show on BBC6 Music, as well as plays on indie shows in Europe and Canada. 

Early reviews of the album are equally as enthusiastic. The first blog review gave it 4.5/5 stars and DENISE JOHNSON (Primal Scream, Electronic, New Order, ACR) said "this album is just beautiful" describing their song "Until Then" as "sublime". 

Parent have been active on the UK live scene with specialised pop up gigs in different spaces in the north of England. The first gig was in a disused bank to an invited audience and most recently they have played their biggest gig to date at their official album launch at the very beautiful Hallé St. Michael’s – a former church in Ancoats, Manchester. Live they are accompanied by a stunning string quartet which includes leading players from Manchester’s Hallé Orchestra and as interest in their music spreads, all gigs to date have sold out. 

PARENT have been sending pre-release copies of their CD album to selected fans on twitter, again receiving an incredibly warm response. The album is officially released on all platforms on Friday 17th June 2016.

The Tempus Collective are a duo hailing from Glasgow/Scotland, consisting of Kevin Fleming (vocals and keys) and Stewart Grieve (Keys, programming and production). The boys first met at school and have been playing together since 1983. They got their first 4-track a few years later and have continued to be bedroom music makers ever since, except for a 10 year recess to attend to family life.

Over the years there have been various musicians who have joined the ranks but it remains a two piece outfit for the moment with guest  musicians joining the band for selected projects as they are required.

Influenced by the likes of The Blue Nile, David Sylvian,Thomas Feiner and similar melancholic artists, the Tempus sound is usually a subdued affair that could never be considered mainstream.

"We spend a lot of time on production, we always have, it's about making the best of what you have at the time, both in ability  and equipment and as the years have gone on, both have improved vastly. We always felt that one good sounding song was worth 10 poor ones !  That's what we strive for, That's where we always channeled our energies and it still is to this day."

Using Soundcloud as their main platform to showcase their music the boys have accumulated a decent following and gained a lot of confidence from the warm reception they have received from fellow musicians and music lovers alike....
