Mikey V is a producer, DJ and vocalist from Los Angeles, California who has been a staple in the West Coast underground house scene since the early 2000's. While throwing LA's HAWT underground parties, Mikey signed his first 3 EP's to Luke Solomon & Derrick Carter's Classic Music Company in 2013. He has compiled a versatile discography of productions and vocal releases on labels such as Classic Music Company, Paradise, Robsoul, DFTD,  Snatch!, Hot Creations, Toolroom, Strictly Rhythm & Dirtybird.
Mikey has also collaborated with industry heavyweights such as Riva Starr, Oliver Dollar, DJ Sneak, Phil Weeks, Blakkat, Wheats, Brett Johnson & Nathan Barato.

Founded in 2011 by Sean Dexter on Pure Radio Holland and is currently on Underground Kollektive Radio as a 3 hour show that has featured guests from around the world like Paul Johnson, James Curd, DJ Vivona, David Duriez, Jay Tripwire and many others. In 2020 BayAreaBeatbox Live was launched on Mixcloud doing live broadcasts and in 2021 BayAreaBeatbox live started a monthly residency on the legendary underground station Fantasy FM in the UK on the Last Sunday of the month from 6-9 pm PDT. Beatbox Records was Launched in 2016 featuring productions from Sean Dexter. Sean has been a dj, producer, remixer, party promoter and radio host for over 30 years. BayAreaBeatbox takes it's name from the legendary Roland 808 drum machine lovingly referred to as a beatbox

Reason 2 Funk was started in 2013 by DJ Jon Hart, it was started as a brand to launch our first online radio show on Chicago House FM (Reason 2 Funk Fridays with DJ Jon Hart). 

The brand was then carried through to both Sugar Shack Recordings & Amsterdams Most Wanted as we were offered radio shows on their sites to. 

Reason 2 Funk fast became quite well known amongst the online radio sites and we decided to give the brand a fresh look that was more recognisable in order to continue its growth. 

Reason 2 Funk are now producing music and are looking to release some tracks in early-mid 2015, which will be the launch of "Reason 2 Funk Recordings" as a label, however in the meantime Reason 2 Funk will be releasing weekly podcasts from its featured DJs and guest mixes from talent all over the world.
