Born in East Germany, Ronald KOON started DJing in 2007. Later he increasingly devoted himself to disco and electronic sounds from 1970s to 1980s and began producing his own music. 

Ronald's sets, which are heavy on edits and presented with eclectic energy, are a mixture of classic and contemporary disco and house. The varied repertoire between jackin', soulful, funky and a touch of UK is always driving, exciting, danceable, always good for a surprise, full of heart and never far from the great voices, grooves, and melodies of the disco era. 

His often avant-garde and mostly tongue-in-cheek outfits round off Ronald's presence behind the decks to a lasting experience. Ronald KOON's releases on smaller international disco and house labels have already received some attention in the scene.

Good Custard Mixtape 096: Ronald KOON

For the last instalment of the year I've invited my good friend and partner in House music production, Kaïz. We've been friend since kindergarden and he was the one that showed me the wonderful world of mixing on Vinyl and also introduced me to House music that same day :) 

He made an all vinyl mix for us to enjoy. Here's a lil' bio for those that want to get to know the fella a bit better:

Hailing from Ghent (Belgium). Kaiz (BE) is a Dj/producer with a passion for underground house music from the funky sunset 'till the deep sunrise. He's been collecting and playing House since the early ‘00s. Around the same era he started performing at the locally renowned parties called "Freak City", where local legends Yellert & Clauz took him under their wings. His passion for House music grew and never died 'till this day. 
Cezar Touch convinced him to start producing and as a result he has released tracks on FederFunk Family Label, Deep Clicks, You Funked Up, That's Right Dawg Music, Chronic Rhytm Label, Robotical Grooves, Run To My Beat and many more… 2023 was a good year with 20+ track in the jackin top 100 on traxsource. In 2024 he will keep releasing music and has already signed tracks on different labels who are ready for your ears.

His musical project with Cezar Touch has also been busy with releases on Nu Monkey Records, Chronic Rhythm Label and House Salad Music. 2024 has also some new tracks in petto, so keep hanging around!

Series 3 - FUNKcast 015 - DJ Philly Phil

So, a little while ago - 2015 to be precise... we had an absolute cracking mix on Series 1 of the FUNKcast from head honcho at Jackin.cz - PIF... so I reached out again to reconnect and had a lovely catch up with this guy, since we last spoke we both got married but we both still are running our little House Music HQs and have never lost the love for it.

So lets welcome back to the FUNKcast for Series 3 - Mr Jackin.CZ - PIF... this ones hot!!!

A little more about PIF:
DJ PIF's journey into the world of DJing began with a deep love for music in 2005 when he was recognized by a local DJ and radio host in Czech Republic. As he started to learn the craft of mixing, he was also passionate about being a radio host on a local radio station. This love stayed with him as he was hosting a show for 4 years on Amsterdam Most Wanted radio. Now he hosts a show on the RadioB.cz called Pifoviny.

In 2011 he founded Jackin.cz collective and with DJ MarkyP they put Jackin House firmly on the map in the Czech scene.

He played in numerous clubs all around Czech Republic, being resident in Prague’s Hilton Cloud 9 and also the hub for Czech underground house scene - Pekelnej bar. Sharing stages with international icons, to name a few DJ Sneak, Golf Clap, Flapjackers, Craig Hamilton, Johny Fiasco, Trevor Vichas, and JR From Dallas. They inspired him to start creating his own tracks and since 2012 his tracks were released on labels like Doing Work Records, Full House Digital, Treasured Grooves and more.
