Wick-it the Instigator is a multi-genre DJ and producer known as a breath of fresh air in an otherwise over-crowded EDM scene. He merges the likes of mashups, hip-hop and electronic to bring together a unique sound that you are bound to enjoy. In the last few years Wick-it has had the opportunity to play festivals like Summer Camp, Wakarusa, Camp Bisco, Imagine, Backwoods, Shambala and more. His SoundCloud page alone has garnered over 70K+ followers and over 30M+ plays. Impressive numbers like these helped land him on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart. This isn’t just a testament to his top-notch production skills, but also his keen ability to build and harness a highly interactive online fan base.

In 2012, Microsoft recognized that direct audience connection and chose Wick-it to produce a song for their Windows 8/Angry Birds: Star Wars commercial that they blasted to millions of prime-time viewers. Even before that in 2010, Big Boi of Outkast picked up his mashup project ‘The Brothers Of Chico Dusty’ which helped projectile his popularity. To add even more fuel to the fire, in 2015 Sia picked Wick-it’s remix to be her official remix for ‘Elastic Heart’. Since then he has done official remixes for the likes of Kesha, ZZ Ward, KC & The Sunshine Band and Figure.

With successful headline tours supplemented by huge sets playing with Skrillex, Pretty Lights, GRiZ, Herobust and others, it’s obvious his talent and success extend far beyond the studio.

Raised by the early and mid 90’s NYC club and rave scene as a follower of the now famous Frankie Bones’ Factory parties from under the Brooklyn Bridge to The Tunnel and Limelight, Matty P finally found his way into DJ’ing in June 2007 while residing in the Philadelphia metro area.

Influenced by those same sounds and environs, Matty made sure to continue the same tradition in his sets by offering a constant 4/4 bass sprinkled with techno and broken-beat elements. Reminding his audience where it all began and where to go next with the sound of electronic dance music in whichever scene he finds himself a part of.

After throwing his own event in South Philly at Ulana’s Nightclub, in the summer of 2007, a well-known local DJ of 10 years: Jon Anthony saw the talent and potential his sound had. He immediately added him as a resident of Square One at Liquid Charm (the longest running house and breakbeat monthly in Philadelphia.) He held that residency for two years as well as one year for Jon Anthony’s The Get Down at The Liberty Bar.

His two-year tenure in Philly assisted his successes elsewhere, but mostly in the EDM underground of the northeast region of the U.S. He extended himself to New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and most recently: Texas.

Since moving to Texas in May of 2009, Matty found himself at Numbers Nightclub in Houston. Within the next month he was asked to guest DJ and, immediately following that night, he was asked to be a featured resident at "Revolve!", owned and operated by Chris Kairo.

The following summer of 2010 to present, Matty teamed up and began an additional residency with a multi-genred, libertarian-minded crew of DJ’s who formed the largest EDM Crew in Texas: Underworld, owned and operated by Bart Black.

Underworld has become a musical movement and the new standard in underground electronica events in Houston, TX. Matty currently holds residence at their seasonal GLOW event and Underworld Friday weeklies.

Today, you’ll find Matty promoting the Tech Funk movement: heavy bass-laden Electro, Fidget and Breaks.  He also has teamed up with Bart Black and El-Nino of Underworld for a new project: The Electro Enforcers: a 2x4 3-DJ tag set that has Houston party-goers breaking their legs on the dancefloor! With soon to be released production works coming in 2012!
