Full of brutal melodies, hardcore edits and raw kicks – WLR007 is going to leave a bad taste in your mouth – for the right reasons.

Derry born DJ/Producer OHIN; has made strides in the last year from playing sets under JikaJika! and supporting some of the industries heavy hitters. Known for his productions of dark, high energy techno tracks created with the inspiration of everyday sounds, lofi house and even poetry samples, OHIN is a true innovator and one to watch in the scene as he grows from strength to strength – securing a residency with Wonderlust BFS and joining Black Mass Agency for bookings.

Today we premiere some nail biting techno from a new Irish label Puragtory. Their first VA features an amalgamation of both Irish and international talent and today we host ‘Executioner’ by Richie Corrigan which lyes on pulverising bass drums, textured distortion and metallic percussion.

Irish techno party Purgatory launches its first chapter as a label with a hard hitting VA of angry techno. Purgatory was born in Berlin with the aim of hosting tough as nails techno parties with avant-garde acts from across Europe and Ireland. Purgatory has hosted heavy hitters Dave Clarke, Chlär, Echoes Of October, Illnurse, Cailín, Jamie Behan & more across Berlin, Manchester & Galway.

The party & label celebrates its year anniversary of ferocious techno, with the birth of the label which features act’s from Ireland and further ashore, which keeps in line with labels ethos. Among the bill of producers on the VA is Cailín, Richie Corrigan, D. Carbone, Aero, Myler, Felix6ood & Pet Duo.

Today we host a ‘Executioner’ from label founder Richie Corrigan. Richie cut his teeth as a DJ in Galway and Limerick, hosting parties in varous club as well as being responsible for multiple underground parties across the two cities before moving to Berlin. Over the years Richie has supported Dave Clarke, Paul Seul, Echoes of October, PETDuo, Cailín, Angy Kore, Gabriel Padrevite and more.

‘Executioner’ lyes in a tangent with his love for distortion, and the tribal feeling of pounding bass. Tough off-kilter bass drums, work with sliver licked percussion hits and troublesome distorted atmospheres. The track has sudden breakdown points, before arriving at a new venomous energy. This is angry and cathartic techno made for the floor

MOTZ Premiere: MOT - Arguing in a club (SHUGO NOSS Remix)

This week's Local Selection comes with an added twist, as we welcome ROWDIBOI for the 177th edition. The Dublin based DJ, producer and promoter has seen a sharp rise in popularity in a very short period of time. Having gained a heap of momentum through playing shows all across the country.

ROWDIBOI, has engraved his sound into the Irish techno scene with consistent performances, releases, and mixes for the last few years. Showcasing his playful, hard techno, rave focused sound through playing headline shows in Galway, Cork and Limerick. Where he has also appeared across line-ups in Sligo, Waterford and Dublin too, it’s easy to see that his momentum is picking up at a blistering pace.

Boasting impressive track releases on MOTZ, Dusk and Hardest Soft alongside multiple VA contributions and self-releases ROWDIBOI is establishing himself not only as a solid DJ but also as a music producer. 

Finding himself as the curator for his label Real Rotation Recordings and as a junior booker for Dublin club 'The Sound House' too. When you combine all of the above, it is clear that ROWDIBOI lives and breathes music.
