Badboy duo @arkadian09 and @melati3000 are back with a stinkkkky b2b journey through breaks and techno for this months instalment of Cadenza Theory, joined by special guest IYESHA ( @naomi-momoh ) with a fierce and funky takeover for the 2nd hour. 

We first discovered IYESHA through her guest mix for London-based collective @technomateclub and was instantly blown away. Her style resonates with the same sassy and sexy energy that Melati embodies in her music and we just had to get her involved in the show.

Inspired by the sounds heard on nights out and at queer raves in the North, IYESHA took up mixing during her time at Leeds University, getting in the booth at any given opportunity before purchasing her own decks and putting together her own mixes. She takes inspiration from a diverse pool of genres, seamlessly blending footwork, breaks, techno, trance and house into bouncy, high energy mixes. 

Back in 2019, she met Roxanne and NSFW and discovered they each had a passion for similar tastes in music and a desire to create parties that provide a safe space for marginalised and queer communities to be able to party freely without judgement. @ratparty is the manifestation of this vision, making space for queer and marginalised communities in Leeds with a music ethos that allows them to combine all their favourite genres together in a complimentary way. 

IYESHA takes over our second hour with a FIERCE mix - expect bass, funky, techno, trance and a whole load of juicy pop remixes!

Sorry that we have been quiet for a little while, but luckily for you as the weather in Naarm starts to cool down we’ve decided to warm things up and bring some absolute heat to you all in any way that we can. We’ve jumpstarted the SPEED mix series with this absolutely insane contribution from Top Hun. 

With one foot in the future and another in the classics, Top Hun’s Music selection is a genuine declaration of love for the beautiful act of raving. Being a Russian Female from Estonia who did her Music Technologies and Dance BA in London, her sets are often inspired by the wide range of music genres and subcultures she experienced there. 

Her involvement in Australian and European street dance and vogue/ballroom culture has helped Top Hun curate a genre-spanning catalogue that she delivers with passion at the decks. We’re stoked to have them be a part of this series and hope you all enjoy it.
