今作のリミキサーには、90年代以降New Yorkのハウスシーンにもたらした功績やSTEREO PRODUCTIONSやOTO MUSIC、NY Love Musicなど名立たるレーベルからのリリースや主催、John Creamerのパートナーとしても知られる＜Stephane K＞。
そして、日本のベースミュージックシーンを牽引する次世代デュオ＜Herbalistek＞の宇宙的、サウンドトラック的な無限大の可能性を秘めたRemixが野外フェスBrightnessをきっかけに異色コラボレーションが実現した。まさにジャンルの壁を超え、TOTEM TRAXXらしい夢の傑作を発表できることを祝したい。

In 2022, DO SHOCK BOOZE will finally officially release "Solar Plexus," a new track that he has played many times at outdoor parties and clubs, as the 93rd release of TOTEM TRAXXX.
The remixer of the track is Stephane K, known for his contribution to the New York house scene since the 90's, as well as for releasing and hosting tracks on such prestigious labels as STEREO PRODUCTIONS, OTO MUSIC, and NY Love Music, and for being a partner of John Creamer. Stephane K.
The next generation duo "Herbalistek", who are leading the Japanese bass music scene, have collaborated with each other to create a remix with infinite cosmic and soundtrack-like possibilities at the outdoor festival Brightness.
We congratulate TOTEM TRAXXX on this dreamy masterpiece that truly transcends genre barriers.

The Lava Lamp Series 001 - Tephra

The latest "Радиант" in 2024 was recorded for RS by Juliana Ahulijing (https://soundcloud.com/ahulijing), a selector, multi-genre DJ, and co-founder of the "Welofi" label (https://soundcloud.com/welofi).

At the heart of the mix lie nostalgic tracks that bring back Juliana's memories of the 2010s, a period when she fell in love with drum-n-bass. "This mix is a tribute to a lighthearted and romantic youth, to drum parties on dancefloors of which unity and kindness always reigned, and to a time when DJs didn't hype with bare torsos but instead were able to express truth," - shared Ahulijing.

The selection touch on various drum-n-bass subgenres, venturing into jazzy hip-hop and downtempo territory. Structurally, the mix resembles the stages of an intense Saturday night party, with distinct intro, pinnacle, and the epilogue which you listen on Sunday morning taxi ride.

For my 9th Chillits appearance I went a bit more back to my roots with a more eclectic “ambient” approach (rather than the daytime balearic vibes of the previous two years). Initially I had wanted to play later in the dead of night (where it all started) but I ended up getting to soundtrack the transition from day to night and as the sun began to set everything felt absolutely perfect.

Teenage Menopause invites Jakarta-based music producer Aditya Permana as BAUR. 

The band is defined through its raw, primitive sound, heavily inspired by the home tape recording culture of the late 1980s. Reflecting upon the chaotic and polluted environment of Jakarta, BAUR’s long play format often narrates a reality that is gritty and apocalyptic but also containing melancholy and hope.

Outsiders: Teenage Menopause w/ BAUR @ Kiosk Radio 20.01.2025

Euan Alexander Millar-McMeeken is a Scottish composer originally from Dundee and now living on the south coast of England. Euan began composing in the late 2000s, but it was in 2010 after the dissolution of his band, that his solo work as Glacis took shape. Left with just his piano, this became an outlet for creativity during a period of solitude. Over the years, his music has been released by labels such as Fluid Audio, Oscarson and Lost Tribe Sound, and he’s also built a reputation as a prolific collaborator with projects including Gallowglas, Civic Hall (alongside Craig Tattersall) and The Dead Bell (with The Green Kingdom), as well as work with artists including Satomimagae, Gavin Miller and Adrian Lane. Euan has become a familiar figure with Whitelabrecs over the years.

Polaroid Notes is the work of a German artist called Andreas, who is based in the countryside between Munich and the Alps. Initially known for his Ambient dub electronic work as Kraut Sounds, Andreas began Polaroid Notes over a decade ago as a contemporary classical side project. In recent years, this has become his primary project and perhaps the pseudonym that he’s best known as. His music has appeared on labels including Driftworks, Büro für Erdrotation, Weber & Alcantu, Licht-ung and his own Drone Works International imprint. He has released five solo albums with Whitelabrecs, as well as releases on Whitelabrecs’ predecessors Tessellate Recordings and Audio Gourmet.

Both of these artists are regulars on Whitelabrecs and to our fans and followers, these artists will need no introduction. Euan and Andreas first connected around the release of Cloud Anthems, though they’d admired each other’s work for much longer. Since then, their friendship has grown through conversations about music, life and family. In autumn 2022, they began exchanging ideas and sound fragments, a process that unfolded naturally over the next two years. Both artists’ work is rooted in the piano, but this album reaches beyond, blending modern classical composition with experimental textures, shifting from light-filled passages to shadowy tones; from deep melancholy to moments of sublime beauty.

This album which is called ‘Time Is Coming To An End’ was created without a strict concept. It was born out of a simple shared sense of curiosity and the joy of surprising each other through sound. Work began in the winter of 2022, with long pauses and returns when the time felt right. The result is an evocative, layered collection of pieces, greater than the sum of its parts.

Earlier this year, the pair offered a glimpse of their collaboration with the 5-track EP Reflections, self-released for Piano Day. Now, ‘Time Is Coming To An End’ reveals the full scope of their Scottish-Bavarian partnership in all its depth and detail, tied together with the evocative title and its striking artwork concept of Meike Pfitzner.
