With the 42th episode we finalise the seventh series of SALON. To close this series in style we’ve invited the South-Korean artist Cobahn who recently relocated to the Netherlands. With her deep and ritualistic sound Cobahn manages to guide her listeners in a meditative state of mind. With this ability it’s no surprise that she has been strongly associated with Vurt where she shared the line ups with many other amazing artists.

We asked Cobahn what she wants to translate with this mix, about she had the following to say:

“When I'm working on music, I like to set a certain atmosphere or story for each project. In this mix, I tried to capture a mental journey that explores the subconscious that is happening deep inside my mind. With sounds that inspired me recently I aimed for a soundscape of chaos, distortion, transformation, and various abstract emotions intertwined in darkness and light.”

DJ MARIA. has something special to offer and in her sets you can expect lovingly crafted journeys designed to invoke the meditative state felt during audio/sensory experiences, taking you on a psychedelic and sometimes experimental techno adventure playing a unique blend of Techno rhythms laced with Psychedelic elements aiming to create the euphoria felt during Psychedelic Trance whilst playing in a Techno landscape. 
 
In my most recent experience, her headlining act at “Moment” , sent the crowd into a state of euphoria and created a fantasy like atmosphere. Most of her sets are recorded and posted on her Soundcloud for everyone to enjoy.
She isn’t bound by genre and has experience with house, ambient, trance and downtempo music. With great energy control on stage she creates a euphoric atmosphere wherever she plays.
 
She is also an event organiser. Throughout 2017 to 2019 she hosted “RELATIVE” a Techno party based in Shibuya and in more recent years, “Transcendence” A psychedelic techno rave style event. As well as supporting local events and festivals, she has contributed to the Japanese techno scene in many ways through livestreams and music production.

Santiago Ochoa es un artista que pertenece a la segunda generación de DJs y productores de Medellín, conocido actualmente como Sepian, quien durante su evolución como selector se ha caracterizado por un sonido marcado y definido que se inspira en paisajes sonoros ambientales y ritmos hipnóticos, obteniendo siempre una búsqueda pura y profunda de la música sin dejar de lado melodías y ritmos enfocados al club. Enfrentarse a un set de Sepian, es abrirse a un estado de conciencia que responde a la experiencia inmediata de abrirse ante una apreciación de vigilia y de atención orientada al mundo en relación con la realidad de la vida cotidiana y sus procesos ordinarios, haciendo énfasis siempre en sonidos profundos que permitan alcanzar su búsqueda y versatilidad sonora.
Desde 2018, Sepian ha continuado su camino como DJ y productor, buscando cada vez más seguir trabajando en un sonido más maduro y honesto donde los ritmos y texturas del deep techno, los paisajes sonoros ambientales, beats hipnóticos y vanguardistas, le permitieron reflejar sus habilidades e ideas en sellos colombianos como Granulart Spectrum, Rouge y From a Lost Place, que muestran un enfoque claro permitiéndole a la vez participar en el Freedom Festival 2020 y 2022, compartiendo recorriendo la principales ciudades de Colombia.

Originally from a metalcore and hardcore background he has always enjoyed electronic and experimental music. Delving deep in the unknown space of impulsive rhythms, dissociative sounds and dark and eerie atmospheres, his goal is to mesmerize the listeners with his productions and DJ-Sets. He has been establishing his soundscapes in the local and international scene since 2019. Reclaim Your City 237 | Ruhig (Caserta, Italy)

Ruhig, also known as Luigi Cicchella is an italian dj and producer, not new to the techno scene as former partner of Tresor resident Synthek at the guidance of Berlin based imprint NatchRecords, where they both released several eps and the album Unwise (July 2014). Luigi musical background has deep roots in drum and bass, trip hop and ambient, influences that he kept through the years manifesting a really peculiar approach to techno. Ruhig debuts on Midgar Records with Lost In The Instability ep (October 2014), a sophisticated ensemble of deep, crafted cuts, followed by a remixed edition, out few months later, featuring reworks by Edit Select, Luigi Tozzi, Synthek and Wata Igarashi.

We have been waiting with big excitement to present this podcast to you. Dino Sabatini created a one hour set, using vinyls and Octatrack, that takes you on a spacey journey. 

He already released multiple EP's and albums on several labels, but one of our favourtie ones is definitely his masterpiece album Shaman's Path, originally released on Prologue in 2012. Later in 2018 he released it as a special limited edition in double-vinyl format as a part of Outis Opera Series on his own label Outis. There he showed his skills by producing these organic, but very clear and trippy tunes.

The italian born artist is also a key figure in italian techno and has helped to develop his local scene. We're honored to have him on board for this episode of the Hypnaughtic podcast series.
