DIE by the Natural Curve : 1st Single (Larse Remix)

I Die is the first release from The Natural Curve on the Best’s Friends Music label.

When the track was posted on Soundcloud, as a demo a few years ago, it caught the ear of legendary producer Niles Rodgers who simply tweeted: “That’s an awesome song!”

The tune has been revamped and updated by the Natural Curve, with the addition of guitar, percussion, and a funky-assed bass line.

I Die features the extraordinary vocal talents of the mighty Polly Gibbons; a Ronnie Scott’s and Birdland Jazz Club regular, with fans on both sides of the Atlantic. She has collaborated with the Natural Curve on several tracks.

The Natural Curve is musician, songwriter, and producer Paul Cullen.

I Die is a typical Natural Curve track: a groovy collaboration with friends and musicians; a catchy ear-worm, packed with live performance, soul, funk, and character.

The Natural Curve repertoire is diverse, with downbeat, nujazz, d&b, house, and funk all featuring in the portfolio. The one thing that ties them all together: the groove. It has to be groovy. ‘All my best friends are bass players…’

The Natural Curve said: “Disco never died. It’s a musical perennial. There is always space for a new ‘classic’ and I Die is exactly that; slipping into the essential wedding DJ set and setting the dance floor on fire.

Julian Stetter might be best known as ‘one half of the electronic pop duo VIMES’, but he is no stranger to the Cologne club scene. His debut EP ‘Insides’ stems from a long history of djing and organising underground parties across the city. A resident DJ and collaborator at Cologne’s famed JackWho club, it was these surroundings that drove Stetter to dive deep into producing. His first solo project is now set to be released on the label PNN. It features three tracks plus a remix by Beyou. Stetter’s sound is polished and the precise production of each three tracks make this EP feel far from debut. ‘Emily’, the main track of the single, draws you in on shimmering waves that rise and break into a deeper and spacier sound. Warm beats are interjected with random snippets of whale song. Listening to Emily feels like receiving a welcome hug at an after party.

Ibiza’s DJ Pippi & Willie Graff hooking up into the next level for summer 2017. Pippi & Willie created a funky disco burner including hot remixes by Ron Basejam (aka Crazy P) & Siren (Siren are Darshan Jesrani of Metro Area and Dennis Kane {Disques Sinthomme / Ghost Town}).

Pippi has been considered a true pioneer DJ in the Balearic Islands and is one of the legendary founders of the Ibiza House-Music culture remaining a worldwide sought-after Balearic Sound DJ. As a resident DJ at the famous PACHA in Ibiza, he has been a trendsetter ever since 1984. His unique performances continue creating the celebrated Nightlife-fashion of Ibiza - just as during legendary times at the biggest nightclub of the world, the KU (now called Privilege).

Willie Graff began his musical journey in Ibiza where he was born to American parents. Inspired by all genres of music at an early age, from Funk to Rock to Balearic Beat to US Deep House and other underground music influences, he stepped up to the turntables and never looked back. At 16 he became resident in the Pacha's Funky Room as one of the youngest DJs to ever play at the club. Since then, that space has grown to become a bastion of soulful, deep and groovy, non-comercial music, despite the opposite trend in the rest of the club. In fact, such has been the success of Willie's role in the Funky Room that he was one of the few residents who was chosen to feature for Luciano's acclaimed Cadenza party.

DJ Tennis’ highly acclaimed Life and Death imprint continues to traverse sonic boundaries with no exception. The next release Trooper comes from London-based producer Joseph Ashworth, featuring outstanding remixes from the inimitable Ron Trent and founder of Margot Records, Sebra Cruz.

The Ron Trent version employs a stronger techno leaning at the outset, adding a vocal and ambient synths that take it on deeper journey. Sebra Cruz creates a powerful peaktime number, bass-focussed and euphoric. Second original track Laminated, perpetuates the perfect dancefloor rhythm with an abundance of drums, percussion and a heady dose of bass. 

Joseph Ashworth began his career on Needwant with his Grain LP, which showcased his innate ability to fuse melody with a techno beat. Since then, he’s had releases on Get Weird, Dirtybird, Pets Recordings and Anjunadeep. Legendary Ron Trent is regarded as one of the key figures in the birth of the Chicago music scene. He has an extensive back catalogue of prominent releases, founding four of his own labels. Sebra Cruz is the new solo endeavour of one half of Italian duo, and founder of Margot Records, Margot. Earlier this year he released a collaboration with DJ Tennis on their Truth Or Consequences EP.
