Dutch-born, DJ/ producer Laura Van Hal is a growing name in the European techno community. Her sets contain a strong groove and intricate selection. 

At the beginning of the year, she had her first ever release. On a V/A on the UK based label ’Platform 22’ contributing with a spectacular ambient track. The next release is coming out this month, May 25th, on a V/A for the Dutch label ‘Courtoisy’.

With the Art of Hugo Rolan, the sci-fi master allows us to move by twin groove. Hypnosis and science merged in one spirit. Clanging spacial sounds with contemporary rhythms. Dark, dreamy atmospheres and the raw, echoing, and forceful beats make for a compelling trip.

▸ When techno is in your DNA you don't need additional translation to understand it. This is the case of Hugo Rolan, from Asturias, north of Spain, who has been exposed to techno and futuristic sounds since his adolescence, and now in his maturity, he masters the language to perfection.

Being primarily DJing for two decades, remaining under the radar of the scene, working in conventional day job. In his spare time, he learned production skills, delving into music creation software and hardware, and training hard and quietly until he felt it was time to public his work.

The wait worth it, in 2022 his first work was published on one of the most recognized ceiling labels, Warm Up, managed by Oscar Mulero, a interesting debut album, full of techno.

His second reference is released on one of the most important labels worldwide, Axis Records, owned by Jeff Mills, a work that makes us get closer to his creativity and gives us an idea of where his sound is heading.

Facilitating him works on Incense, Legend 1997, Illegal Alien, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, SUB_tl, Prophet, Semantica, FautSection, Abstract Mechanisms, Edit Select, Fenómenos, West Rules, KeyHole, Voyager and Loopaina Records.

For our second video sets session, we have the artists based in Barcelona: Juan Evangelista, Niramlears, and THREE-S.

Juan Evangelista’s musical style is characterized by a compelling fusion of classic Techno with dense and archaic rhythms, drawing deeply from 90s Techno and the depths of ambient. His journey began in 2014 when he founded the underground movement “TCC” in Córdoba, aimed at advancing Techno culture in Argentina. This endeavor paved the way for him to share stages with international artists, honing his craft and expanding his reach. Seeking broader horizons, he moved first to Buenos Aires and then to Barcelona, where he now devotes himself mostly to production in his studio.

In 2023, Juan released three standout EPs that have left a mark on the scene: El Niño de los Ojos Tristes on Default Series, the Dark Matter EP on Enux Records, and the milestone Equilibrium EP on Tremsix, featuring a remix by Jonas Kopp that solidifies his growing reputation.

Juan Evangelista possesses a distinct impetus and groove that define his music, resonating with audiences on the dancefloor. Over the past year, he has toured extensively, performing in the USA, an all-vinyl tour in Canada alongside Freddy K, as well as across South America like in Mexico alongside DVS1, a festival in Riga next to Svreca, many gigs in Berlin, and throughout Europe. In August, he made his debut in China, followed by a second tour in the U.S. in September. Filled with inspiration, Juan is set to take off and showcase his sound around the globe.
