Frankey & Sandrino Return to Sum Over Histories with a Disco-Pop Remix of Ede & Max Joni’s Weine Nicht Kind

Frankey & Sandrino make a striking return to their own imprint, Sum Over Histories, with a long-awaited remix of Weine Nicht Kind by Ede & Max Joni — a track originally released on Watergate Records two years ago and celebrated ever since for its emotional depth and genre-bending character.

Rooted in connection and shared experience, Weine Nicht Kind is a track that speaks to vulnerability and strength in equal measure. Its marching melody, brassy bassline, and the raw, German-spoken vocal from Max Joni channel the energy of Neue Deutsche Welle, colliding Berlin’s stark expressiveness with 80s nostalgia. The original release included a Dub Mix and Max Joni’s own remix — an Indie Dance take laced with Afro House rhythms.

Now, Frankey & Sandrino add their unique touch. Inspired from the first listen, the duo transformed the track into a shimmering, groove-laden version that leans into disco-pop with their unmistakable finesse.

“Ede originally sent me the track quite some time ago,” Sandrino recalls. “Max’s voice immediately captivated me – especially because it’s sung in German. Right away, we knew we had to try a remix. As soon as we started playing around with the vocal and the bassline, everything came together quickly and naturally. We actually made the track over two years ago – and to be honest, we like it even more now than we did back then.”

Now, after sitting with the remix and letting it mature, Frankey & Sandrino are ready to share it with the world — a testament to patience, intuition, and their evolving sound.

Their remix of Weine Nicht Kind is out on May 2nd on Sum Over Histories.

MiZi MuZiK continues its sonic journey with James Harcourts futuristic brand of intricate synth work, stripped drum structures, and blooming euphoria. For catalog no. 2, James delivers three-tracker Symmetry —a choppy, synth-crazed piece of sound alchemy that merges the cerebral with the visceral, unveiling new nuances on every listen. Hedonista is quintessential Harcourt: moulding highly technical synth-work into an accessible, floor- focused groover with an avant-garde twist, James unfolds an array of pitch-bending lead themes that arc across a field of radiant pads. Ricocheting metallic plucks tear through bright atmospheres, completing an artful oscillation between serene beauty and dancefloor exultation. The title track Symmetry unfolds a radically refreshing concept of club music. Built atop a compact, tomtom-driven beat, Symmetry populates its stripped frequency spectrum with bit-crushed, spaced-out, and pitch-bent synth salvos. Berlin-based producers Michael Ritter and Felix E team up for their debut full-length album 22:22, a project shaped by stories, emotion, and collaboration.

The ten-track album moves between slower listening tracks, emotional pieces, and more driving cuts, each created with patience and love. Contributions from Sister Sol and Paul Brenning add a unique layer to the album, bringing a human touch to the duo's otherwise electronic sound.

22:22 is a milestone release for both friends and their mothership label Reconsider Music.
