Night Tapes #2 - Driahn & Silvente

After a long month's worth of waiting our ANYCAST series returns to the cloud. We constantly strive and try seeking artists outside of our Zurich/Berlin based community. In this next case we looked west and ended up in Barcelona, where we found our next two guests. The DJ duo Driahn & Silvente consisting of @driahn and @silventelazar went all out on this one. Both guys are regulars in Barcelonas nightlife scene and have both been curating or releasing their fair share music over the last couple of years. The divergence in their musical selection is prominent from the first transition on but nevertheless they manage to capture a very unique but intertwining sound. Make sure to go check their work and show some love by listening to the one hour extravaganza they left us with. Filled with an exquisite selection of some raw house, breaks and techno bangers.

Luje is striving to achieve an almost utopic soundtrack. He’s telling it, positive forces will prevail when facing an entropic future that he wishes would never take place in those uncertain times. The well rounded bass, bumpy grooves and funky atmospheres speak for themselves. The constant evolution throughout the mix is a postulate, whatever the forms, let’s accept the plurality as long as we’re connected to this common positive future : Enter Luje’s matrix.

SundaySession006 - Silvente

Extracted from the archives, we have Lena's Bank Holiday set from last August for you. 
It was sadly Lena's only set at The Gun, but it was a wild night, sweaty and heaving in the extreme & certainly one of favourites. The crowd had been dancing from about 7pm (Casper Clark and I's warm up is also available here) so when Lena got on for the remaining 4.5 hours, the room went nuts. Its a brilliantly varied and balanced set that encapsulates so much of what we loved at The Gun, banging enough for a room full of seething heads. dancing into the early hours and considered and classy do that it suits playback at any time of the day.
The recorder died just before the end of the set, so it appears those very last tracks were just for us there on that night, the rest is ready now. (Thanks for this Lena x)

Coming at you direct from the Little “T” LUV NRG Soundsystem truck radio! All the galloping and rolling late 90s tech step and proto-neurofunk that Octo Octa and Faited blast out of a tiny bluetooth speaker inside the cab of an Isuzu NPR HD.

This set was played live at Envelope Soundsytem’s 2024 Ēostre ritual deep in the redwood forest within the Oakland, CA hills. The intention behind this ritual: 

“Ēostre marks a period of rejoining with queer family and community, and of setting intentions towards the approaching sun-drenched days. We celebrate this ritual to conjure the collective dream, and to see the fractal paths toward our individual dream’s first concrete forms. But dreaming alone can not dispel living nightmares—we must speak our dreams aloud and act towards them in anger. Come, you and yours, come weave your hopes with ours.”
