But EDIP does. The Bucharest-based artist returns on Take Notes for his first solo EP on the label: 'Bout That C' is the result, and the wait was worth it. Sizzling electric shocks, hyperspeed shrewd minimal grooves, and embracing yet alluring vocals pave the way for a monstrous bassline and rampant kicks for a track crafted for pure dancefloor bliss. Next, titled '369' is a tight, trippy roller with hooky vox interjections, menacing drums, and lively percussions, all together in pure Take Notes' fashion. On the remix duties, Manchester's powerhouse trio of Mason Collective reinforces the original, bringing more sharp grooves and upping the pace for a heads-down, hands-up production destined for the later hours.

Pakate Records' 11th digital instalment hails from the US, with James Wyler (Solid Grooves Raw) back at it again after his recent label debut on our Alike Miami 2024 VA. This time, it's a full package! He brings all his gritty minimal attitude on the entitled "MPR" EP, a mainstay in Jean Pierre's sets over the last year, with Romanian star Nu Zau enriching the package with a silky remix.

James' originals exude roughness and arrogance, sounding dirty and crisp as ever. The minimal influences are undeniable, and his style perfectly fits with Pakate's cutting-edge sound exploration, with snaking grooves, heavy low subs, and catchy vocal tricks, whilst Nu Zau takes his remix into a more marching, joyful pattern with echoing stabs, light arpeggios, and crunchy drums.

Maqossa is next up with some heavyweight beats on the brilliant Boogeyman label. The Dutch producer has a seductive sound that is perfect for mind, body and soul. He has played everywhere from Burning Man to BPM Festival and heads up his own label and events arm, Qlub. He is in top form with this newest offering. 

This is another effective but charming EP from Maqossa.

Living life as an international DJ, this is the first instalment of Dan Ghenacia’s ‘trax on da road’ productions. His debut solo EP on Apollonia, Ghenacia demonstrates his aptitude for big beats to soulful vocals with a 3-track package that above all will have you dancing.

Manhattan 85 is a funk driven affair of disco-led house. Dabbling in a melange of sounds from classical strings to techno bleeps and vocal samples, the build-up to some complex layering is arranged seamlessly into feel-good, tuneful house that will lift any room.

 Over on the B-side is weighty, no-nonsense Acid walk, full of bounce and infectious rhythm. A singular chord of eerie vocal provides the depth, resonating behind an escalating acidic wail – without a doubt a sure-fire, dance floor bomb. 

Da Doo Da completes the solid offering with a hearty bassline and hypnotic drum rhythms, a strong house-techno contender very much in tune with Ghenacia’s own peak-time track choices.
