A founding member of @Psymedia and co-founder of @MagicBoxEngine, friend began his journey as a music journalist in Cape Town before taking up DJing 2017. In 2018 he moved to SE Asia and quickly established himself as a formidable DJ and promoter in Vietnam. From sandy beaches down south to mystical caves up north, friend played at many reputable clubs, festivals and tropical jungle raves across the country whilst playing a pivotal role in shaping the underground music scene. Since returning to South Africa in 2021, he’s performed at renowned festivals and venues like Wolfkop Weekender, Bazique, Habitat, Origin and Modular Club. Friend’s evolving, borderless sound blends elements of house, techno, electro, breaks, and trance - always eclectic, often obscure, and driven by rich global influences.
