A little back story on this one, for those of you that may be interested. I'd wanted to do an edit of this wonderful track for ages but couldn't figure out how to approach it when along came Mark E with "Scared", an edit which solved the issue of how to deal with the two separate parts of the track beautifully - extend the intro, tease it out and simply drop into the main part of the original, leaving it as is. Brilliant! The only snag for me was that "Scared" wasn't in the style that I was looking for personally. So, I proceeded to copy Mark E's blueprint using a different groove. I filtered the intro and beat, jammed along on keys over the top, working it to the max, before dropping back into the original at the drop. I've had a lot of fun playing this one out over the years, it works equally well in house clubs and soul all-nighters alike. I've left the edit as is,  the way I first recorded it, nice and loose (nothing to do with locating 9+ year old files  on hard drives ;)). I hope you all enjoy it and play it out often and loud!

Nitetime is the new production duo from Boston, USA comprised of Kon (from Kon & Amir) and Whisky Baron which was first sent to us by fellow Bostonians - Soul Clap. Nitetime’s debut EP Jive Talk sits between OG boom bap hip hop - with its tough drums and grooved up interludes - and the 4/4 rhythms of classic house and disco. It also comes packed with a little more history than meets the eye…

Who better to describe the tracks and history than Kon himself?

"All the People" is a classic throwback to 88-92 era of house, lots of 909s and what not, "Teddys Jam " is sort of a deeper, slower late night track, dark and moody with banging drums and "Jive Talk" is a crazy sounding synth riff, George Duke-ish block party vibe… congas and stuff going on.

Then the interludes in between kinda tie the tunes together. I feel thats missing from EP's and full lengths... and I've never heard it done on dance records. De la Soul and Pete Rock would have these amazing little beats, and its just bringing it back."

On the digital EP you can pick up Soul Clap’s extra laidback remix of Hey! which was specially mixed by Lee Curtis of Spectral Sound / Get Physical fame. This also marks Soul Clap’s second remix on Future Classic - hopefully you’ve checked out their chunky drum remix of Mario & Vidis euro anthem ‘Changed’!

The EP has only just been pressed to wax and it's already picking up love from Gilles Peterson, Jacques Renault, Eli Escobar, Soul Clap, Recloose, Frank Booker, Karizma, Lefto from Belgium and Lovemonk in Madrid. Don't let this record slip through those dusty fingers of yours.

The Hot Chip "Look At Where We Are" (Major Lazer Remixes) will be available on a black label 7" limited to 500 copies, pressed at the Hit Bound pressing plant in Brooklyn, NY renowned for reggae & dub vinyl pressings.

The digital bundle is available now and the 7" will be available in stores on August 13th.

Hi folks, welcome the warm jets. Here comes another Henrik Schwarz trademark remix. This is so lovely elastic and warm and “gonna make your and our day”. Yosa, a young gifted talent from Tokyo, gratified and delighted already with his releases on Drumpoet Community, Supplemental, Resopal or Dirt Crew Records. DJ Hell played the previous unreleased Long Version of “Patience” a lot in his sets and motivate us (in)directly to couple it here.
All in all a tremendous package. And if you may not know the recently released Marsmobil album “(Why Don ́t You Take) The Other Side?” you should check The Other Side. Maybe the quotes below quicken the appetite.

Evolution is inescapable. Ten years ago Shaun Hettinger’s musical output was LA synth-rock outfit The Squares, with co-songwriter/guitarist Jeff “Jiffy” Wild from E! Channel’s Chelsea Lately & After Lately.

One Wham! obsession, a move to Brooklyn, a keytar tattoo, and five years later, Hettinger set his sights on crafting chillwave synth-pop in his new project Kitten Berry Crunch. With the release of a few hilarious cat-music videos & their 2012 Dreams EP, mixed by DFA producer Eric Broucek, Kitten Berry Crunch won the internet’s attention.

Memoryy is Hettinger’s newest musical evolution. Retaining the core of Kitten Berry Crunch’s line-up (Adam Magnan on percussion, Dan Morosi on drums, & Sean Silva on bass), Memoryy ditches the tongue-in-cheek synth-pop for the sharp indie futurism found on their brand new Electric City EP. This is an album based in 1983 but written for 2013 – Equal parts Afro-pop, disco funk, electronic & ambient, the five tracks here create a sprawling musical journey for fans of Empire of the Sun, Twin Shadow, Passion Pit, Cut Copy & Phoenix.

Electric City was produced by Attiss Ngo & Davd Vasallo, and featuring the mix work of James Benjamin (Purity Ring).
