This is the second digital single from SONLIFE’s self-titled debut album, out November 17th on Vinyl and in December on digital platforms.

SONLIFE is an 8 track LP that spans genres from Downtempo to Jazz, and is an amalgamation of live instrumentation, field recordings and samples. A lot of the tracks on the album started out as very simple ideas; repetitive, single, distorted loops - “very odd and rough ideas conjured up in the middle of the night in my early twenties”. He originally imagined the project being an experimental solo project in 2015, trying out new sounds and genres. The tracks were back under wraps for a few years when he took a break from making music, and when he returned, they were all reimagined with a brand new life.

The album has heavy influences from the likes of Massive Attack, “Black Sands”-era Bonobo, Portico Quartet and the more dance orientated musicians such as Overmono and Mount Kimbie.

SONLIFE currently has a live show and will be gigging around the release of the album which releases November 17th, 2023

Join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest addition to the Switchstance Recordings artist family, EJUKU, hailing all the way from Kampala, Uganda. A world citizen, a passionate percussionist, and a lover of love and sound, EJUKU now finds himself immersed in the vibrant rhythm of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

EJUKU's music is an awe-inspiring blend of organic and electronic elements, transcending genres and borders. With a soulful and percussion-rich sound, he weaves melodies that have the power to elevate spirits and infuse listeners with positive energy.

In his debut single "Echoes" for Switchstance Recordings, EJUKU embarks on a captivating journey alongside Uganda's esteemed poet, Jason Ntaro, and the skillful Brazilian beat maker, Anshu Sound. The track delves into the minds of those overwhelmed by the ceaseless clamor of society. It paints a poignant picture of streets filled with the honking of cars, the pounding of hammers, the cries of demonstrators, the screams of children, the echoes of gunfire, and the incessant shouts of politicians - all merging into an overwhelming symphony of noise.

The echoes grow louder, turning into a colossal burden that becomes too much to bear. EJUKU's masterful artistry portrays this struggle, encapsulating the universal sentiment of modern-day pressures. Through poetic lyricism and entrancing beats, "Echoes" reveals the profound emotional journey of those feeling lost in the cacophony of life.

Originally a r'n'b piece, here is the same Blasé song in a simplified version: flamenco guitars and a pure and captivating voice. In the style of French band Gipsy Kings or French singer Kendji Girac, Blasé's ultra-simple and emotional lyrics against a backdrop of acoustic guitars come to light. This song is above all a love song.
