« Rester Avec Toi », mixé par Ash Workman (Metronomy, Christine & The Queens) avec Miss Kittin qui prête sa voix, est née d'une punchline : « Si je sors, ce n'est pas pour rentrer ! ».

Jo, chanteur, auteur, la note et le sait déjà, il tient là les prémices d'une chanson. Ce va et vient humide, ce cheval de brouillard qui hennit au loin, ce beat reptilien, la forme est à la fois entraînante, sensuelle, .. psychédélique.

Les Fils du Calvaire est un trio parisien (Jo, Damien et Clément), aujourd'hui partagé entre la capitale hexagonale et Berlin.

Ils sont aussi les créateurs de l'hybride électronique dOP signé sur Circus Company, le label ayant sorti le premier album de Nicolas Jaar.

« Rester avec toi » est le 1er extrait de « Fils de », le 1er album des Fils du Calvaire qui paraîtra début 2016.

" Excellent sounding pressing of an impossibly rare LP track, that has never sounded as clear or dynamic as this version. Originally recorded live in the First Baptist Church in Crown Heights, New York City, in 1982 and pressed only for the congregation, Walter Gibbons (owner of Jus Born studios and a new born Christian at the time of the recording) acquired a copy and played it out at the 7th Avenue. Rock & Soul shop were he worked. This was the place where most discerning DJs and soulful dance music aficionados picked up on this new sound, and it quickly became a Garage, Loft and Zanzibar club classic, championed by Larry Levan, David Mancuso and others."

Two of the Black Madonna's most sought after early tracks return to circulation alongside one burning new jam on Goodbye To All This, the latest release from Stripped & Chewed. 

Drawn from the Chicago label's 2012 compilation Livin' For The City EP, the piano dappled joy of "Exodus" luxuriates across side A, spreading the good word with a pounding beat. "We Don't Need No Music (Thank You, Rahaan)" from SCRS004 takes another whirl around the dancefloor, its pinwheeling horns and infectious vocals pulling even wallflowers into the fray. And in case two remastered sure-shots aren't enough, the brand new "Who Do You Need" closes the record with a soulful thwack: half uplifting house, half blistering techno -- all peak-time fodder. A fine addition to the Black Madonna's discography alongside records for Argot, The Nite Owl Diner, Hometaping Is Killing Music, and of course Stripped & Chewed.
