Born in Harlem, and raised in Washington Heights, NYC, Marleen “DG” Kalivas is a versatile lyricist & songwriter. Her love for story telling began at the age of six! 

Marleen “DG” Kalivas was accepted to LaGuardia High-school for piano and violin, but did not attend. Although DG’s main gift is writing, it does not limit her beat making skills. 

One of DG Kalivas’ first tracks to be recorded was over a Nas Instrumental, “NY State of Mind”, on cassette deck, in 1993. Rawkus Records looked to sign DG in 1991 when she went by the name “Obnoxious”. Her mother denied the contract.

DG Kalivas has independently worked on several music tracks & films with well known artists & producers. She is a performer as well, but has remained behind the scenes of the urban market. Her recent works can be found on most streaming services.
