Mit dieser Ausgabe feiern wir eine Dekade UTM-EP! Die sieben Tracks entstammen einem Künstlerreigen, welcher sowohl aus Producern besteht, deren Arbeiten wir bereits veröffentlicht haben, als auch von neuen Artists, die an Bord gekommen sind. Treibende Kraft bildet hierbei Sinister Souls mit dem distorting Bassmonster „Pennywise“. Basslastig geht’s auch zu bei „Basstrap“ von Dub Flavour, die uns hiermit einen wohlig pumpendem Roller kredenzt. Außerdem im Programm: Faun Dation mit „Melanie“, einer weiteren progressiven Nummer, die mit schrägem Synth versetzt ist. Jeweils zweimal haben wir im Repertoire: Wake N Bass mit „Unbelievable“ und „Whatever“ für die JumpUp-Heads sowie musikalischeren DnB von Gisix mit „Turn Down“ und „Find This Way“, wobei letztere die jungligste aller Nummern auf der EP verkörpert. Wieder einmal also ein musikalischer Querschnitt durch die Spielarten von DnB und ein adäquater Vorgeschmack auf URGE TO MOVE – The Awakening 2023!

With this edition we celebrate a decade of the UTM-EP! The seven tracks come from a roster of artists that includes both producers whose work we have previously released and new artists who have come on board. The driving force here is Sinister Souls with the distorting bass monster „Pennywise“. Bass-heavy is also the case with „Basstrap“ by Dub Flavour, which serves us a pleasantly pumping roller. Also on the programme: Faun Dation with „Melanie“, another progressive track mixed with a weird synth. In our repertoire we have two each: Wake N Bass with „Unbelievable“ and „Whatever“ for the JumpUp-Heads as well as more musical DnB from Gisix with „Turn Down“ and „Find This Way“, whereby the latter embodies the most jungly of all songs on the EP . So once again a musical cross-section through the varieties of DnB and an adequate foretaste of URGE TO MOVE – The Awakening 2023!

Collapse is the moment when the system understands it can’t lie to itself anymore.

Bodrak isn’t telling a “crashed and came back stronger” story. It’s something else: this is overload. A person holds it together way too long, swallows everything, never shows weakness — and suddenly the lock inside just blows. The pressure isn’t from the outside, not from society, not from games of ideology. It’s the body and the mind saying: limit reached.

The sound on Collapse is a recording of that break from the inside. The low end presses the way blood hammers in your ears. The percussion stutters like your hands shaking when you’re trying to keep control and can’t. The high layers hiss like that ring in your head after a week without sleep. It’s not hysteria and it’s not heroism. It’s a clinical record of the moment you snap.

"Flat Earth" sees Sheffield based duo Motional deconvolving the Earth's surface and speeding towards new horizons, with the ride coming to a sudden end when the beats start hammering down.
"Berlin" by Manikin, fresh talent hailing from Perth, Australia, takes you deep down to the basements of the city's former no man's land lying waste after the wall had been taken down. This is how heads were stepping in the days before squatters and off-the-wall clubs had to make way for office blocks and chic boutiques – underground never dies.
"Follow Your Rules" by Nakwan is soaring up to ethereal heights, a call to unchain minds and see the world's beauty glow, safely carried by a powerful Reese bass and percussive beats propelling forward through wide open space – let it shine!
Last but not least, Netics are back on Volume 5 with another crooked roller called "Vulture". No frills in here, just a razor sharp Reese and tearing drums, plus a decent pinch of those wicked Belgrade vibes get the job done with ease.

01 Motional - Flat Earth (Out Now)

In this second instalment on the recently re-launched C4C Limited, we welcome Kursiva, alongside the vocal talents of Hijak MC and the production talents of Transforma.

Provoke' takes on the traditional neuro-infused roller but with Hijak MC's signature vocals. With craftily distorted bass and rolling drum patterns, Kursiva slowly begins to build his track layer on layer, creating a cascading monster. Bouncing between breaks, Hijak MC takes you deep into a dark and dirty world, one that forces the listener to pay attention.

Juggernaut' gradually moves itself forward on cranking drum patterns and slowly creeping synths cutting through the mix, edging out its atmospherics and then crashing forward on its grating snare. Pounding warped aquatic sub undertones rattle each beat, resulting in you becoming more tightly gripped with every sound and layer. This beast of a collaboration between Kursiva and Transforma demonstrates C4C's contemporary standards and elevated understanding of the realm they reign over.
