Music has been part of my life since I was eleven years old. I come from Sicily and, as befits a country of its cultural diversity, during years I focused my interests to know the musical traditions of Mediterranean area. After studying classical violin, my interest in folk-ethnic music brought me in search of a new repertoire and play music with a personal style. In fact my formation becomes rich in the years by influences from the musical traditions of other cultures, also as a result of my travels (South India, Celtic Area, Middle East and North Africa, Mediterranean area and Balkans). Also in my original compositions my music style is folk/ethnic influenced by different cultures.

So I played in the Italian folk scene since 1990 in groups such as Islands, Lautari, Nakaira, Keltwind, ZeroZen: this led me to play at major venues across Europe with gigs in UK, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and Germany.

Now in UK from 2011, I play with Doctor Peacock Ceilidh Band – and starting a new project named “SideWinds”: it wants to explore the boundaries of folk-acoustic music through trad and own original compositions, or by authors whom in the style inspire themselves to the tradition of folk music, reinterpreting and renewing it. Characteristic feature of the band's sound is the Viola d'Amore, a string instrument, played in Europe in the 1700s, with 5 resonating strings.
