Back by popular demand. I did this just before I went to my first and only Southport Festival in May 2008 (I think). I had to teach on the Monday and in my wisdom I thought it would be less suspicious if I went into work after 3 days of mayhem. You can only imagine what happened that day. 

This mix became the unofficial soundtrack to the trip as my mate Jay had this cool bluetooth portable speaker so the mix powered a few chalet parties over the weekend. It kept me and my mate Jak sane on a harrowing drive back to Leeds on the Sunday afternoon. I had to get the train back on my own from Leeds to Nottingham with the mind rending prospect of work looming which was bad enough but this girl sitting in front of me on the train kept turning round and using the reflection in the window to stare at me all the way back. Not what you need after Southport. 

Shouts to all the Southport crew from that year  - to my chalet crew -  Jak, Jay, Vacio, my brothers in arms Beane and Naz, my soul sister Jo Joy, Phil Cooper, Ste Hodge and crew plus big ups to Ed Lloyd and the London crew who looked after me on Sunday afternoon (my first experience of UK funky) - 'Mark Ryder is in the building' etc. :)

Not forgetting my Sheffield crew - Dan J, Dave, Jo, Oki and Mark P. :)

I could write a book about that weekend. Maybe I should.

Danny Berman aka Red Rack'em is described by Juno Records as 'one of the most respected figures in UK underground house circles'. Creator of classics 'Wonky Bassline Disco Banger' (hammered by DJ Harvey, Moodymann and even Elton John), 'In Love Again', 'How I Program', 'Kalimba', 'Tomato Pope', he's also a much loved broadcaster working with SWU.FM, Rinse FM, WWFM and NTS and guest spots on BBC Radio 1 for Pete Tong, Mistajam and Gilles Peterson. He's been even more busy during the pandemic supporting other artists with his 'How I Program' music producer community.

Since returning to the UK (after 8 years in Berlin), he's been releasing killer records like 'Wonky Techno Banger', 'Overthinking' and his Red Baron collab with Ron Basejam from Crazy P (huge support from Gerd Janson, Avalon Emerson and more), as well as undertaking huge tours of USA, India and Asia playing at clubs like Tag in Chengdu (Chinas Berghain), Rhonda in LA (one of the hottest pan sexual parties in the US) and Smart Bar in Chicago.

He's a super adaptable DJ, just as comfortable playing blazing disco boogie at Pickle Factory in London, deep house at TV Lounge in Detroit or raw swingy techno at Mothers Finest in Berlin.
